I'm sorry I haven't updated in ages I've been having migraines and panic attacks but y'all don't care so anyway enjoy the new chapter!
They arrived at the school theater an hour before the party started. Jennifer had volunteered to put up the decorations and Colin... well he just went with her and helped. When they were done they turned of the lights and it looked incredible. A ghost here a pumpkin there and most importantly the giant header at the head entrance that consisted of a giant white sheet with 'bloody' letters saying 'Happy Halloween Boo-tiful'. Colin made it. He was very proud of it especially because it was pretty difficult to do anything with his costume on. The thing is, the party didn't really attract 'cool' people because first of all alcohol was definitely forbidden and second of all the captain of the football team hosted a party as well and there was alcohol so that left their party with just nerds, cool nerds though. Their school had a lot of 'cool nerds' which were mostly the people from the theater, the choir and the marching band. Jennifer was in all of those therefore everyone at the party knew her. 'It looks great, doesn't it?' Jennifer smiled at Colin. The first people started coming in and some had even started dancing. Just when Colin was about to ask her to dance with him - it had taken him a while to find the courage - someone approached them to say hi and offered both of them a drink (grape juice, pretty gross but it sort of looks like blood). They - mostly Jennifer - engaged in a new conversation with new people which probably only took like 5 minutes but for Collin it felt like an eternity. 'Doyouwannadance?' He said as soon as the people whose name he didn't know left. 'Huh? Sure!' Jennifer laughed. 'Almost thought you lost your tongue.' He knew a way to show her he didn't but they were just friends. Just friends.
Jennifer took his hand and dragged him towards the other dancing people. It was a slow song so that meant some sort of slow dancing. Too bad Colin hadn't considered the fact that he couldn't dance before he asked her. He actually never danced before in his life, definitely not with a girl. 'Don't worry, I know what I'm doing.' Jennifer said when she noticed the frown on his face. She placed one hand on his shoulder and the other one on his hip, he did the same. They started moving slowly and Colin didn't step on anyone's toes which was an accomplishment. 'You're a natural.' Jennifer whispered in his ear. He still wasn't sure if she'd changed her mind, if she was still just being friendly and nothing more. He was gonna ask his brother sometime maybe he could help.
The song ended and a louder song came on, which was worse, at least the dancing part. 'You want something to drink, love?' He asked. 'As long as it's not grape juice, please.' She chuckled. He raised an eyebrow. 'Thought it was your idea?' He chuckled. 'It was but that doesn't mean I have to drink it. There's coke too and ice tea which was also my idea.' She smiled. 'Chop chop I'm thirsty.' She joked when he kept smiling at her like an idiot. A cute idiot. She still wasn't sure if she had changed her mind. Did she still want to be just friends?
