i finished my makeup and put on a simple outfit. grayson said it was a pizza date so i didn't think i had to dress up. as i was checking myself out in the mirror veronica came in

"ooooh you look cute, date with gray?" she smirked

"yes. im a little nervous" i confessed

"why? i thought everything was okay now?"

"it is. kinda. im just scared he's gonna want to talk about it. and i have no answers for him" i said

"i think he's going to hear you out and trust you. and if he dosent then-" i cut her off

"then it's over. if we don't have trust we don't have anything. if it ends up going bad tonight i might have to let him go" i say

"you're going to give up?"

"it's not giving up if this is the second time we are trying it" i looked down at my phone and saw a text from grayson

im outside

"he's here i have to go" i sat grabbing my bag and leaving the room

"have fun! text me when you're coming home!" she screamed

as i walked to the car my stomach started to feel funny. he hasn't made my this nervous since i met him

i opened the door and got in

"hey" i smiled

"hey"

"i thought we were staying in for pizza and netflix?" i asked

"we're still doing that just not at the house"

he pulled off and we drove onto the street. we were driving on the coast and the beach looked beautiful with the sun almost set. i pulled out and snapped a picture for snapchat

"isn't that the most beautiful view you have ever seen in the whole world" i asked

"no you are"

i blushed and looked back at the beach

"we're almost there, we just have to hurry" he said. we pulled into a small parking lot next to the beach

"come on! we're going to miss it!" he said jumping out of the car and grabbing a bag out of the backseat

i followed and he grabbed my hand. we ran down the beach steps and into the sand. we got closer to the water and we sat. he took out pineapple pizza slices

"it's about to happen!" he said excitedly

"what is?" i laughed

"look" he pointed to the tiny bit of sun left over the horizon and started to count down

"5 4 3 2 1"

the sun slowly disappeared and darkness quickly took over the sky

he pointed up at the stars that started to appear. they looked extremely bright

"i've never seen them this bright"

"stars shine the brightest when the sky just becomes dark. it only lasts a few minutes but i think it's cool" he smiled like a dork

"i think it's amazing, thank you for showing me this grayson"

we ate pizza and watched netflix off his laptop for a while and it felt perfect, like nothing could ruin this moment

until it started to get chilly and we started to pack our things up

"i didn't want to bring this up earlier but i really think we should talk about the other day" he said

i shook my head

"why? why don't you trust me" i asked. i was starting to get frustrated

"i do but you don't understand how sketchy what you are saying happened is" he said

"it's sketchy but it's the truth. im not having this stupid conversation again, you ether trust me or you don't, and obviously you don't do just bring me home" i say walking towards his car

the whole ride home was silent

he pulled up to the driveway and instantly i heard music

"she's throwing a fucking party" i huff

i knew grayson was going to follow me in even though i wanted him to leave. i opened the door and walked threw the house trying to find veronica

"yo grayson!" ethan screamed from the living room

i walked up to him and asked where veronica was and he had no clue

"great, just fucking great" i mumbled

"grayson you gotta come see who's here" ethan said bringing him into the backyard so i followed

"jordan?!" he smiled walking up to a girl i've never seen before. she hugged him and he hugged her back

i grabbed ethan's arm and whispered to him

"who's this?"

he took a deep breath

"grayson's ex"
