Trust Issues

(Katelyn's POV)(Night)

I look around the room to see where to sit, after thinking for a second I decide to sit on Travis' floor since it was more comfortable then his and Dante's couch.

"Thanks for letting me stay over for the night Travis." I say looking at him as he joins me on the floor.

Travis slightly blushes "No problem Katelyn, anytime."

"H-Hey Travis?" I say in a nervous tone.

Travis looks at me confused "Yeah Katelyn?"

I take a deep breath and ask "What happened to your dad? He never showed up for the flight home, he promised that he would fly back with us."

Travis sighs "He told me that he still had unfinished business on Starlight, so he was going to stay there for a bit longer."

"O-Oh okay." I say disappointingly

Travis' face turns concerned "What's wrong Katelyn?"

I hesitate a little "I-It's just that when someone makes a promise to me and breaks it, I have a very hard time trusting them afterwards."

"But Katelyn, you should know that people break promises for a good reason." Travis says trying to prove a point.

As I get up from the floor I look at Travis again and say "I-I think I'm just gonna go to bed, night Travis."

I head up the stairs and faintly hear Travis say "Katelyn wait! Ugh why didn't I notice how she was acting earlier?"

It's something you wouldn't understand Travis, people have hurt me in the past with promises they couldn't keep.
