Katelyn's Secret

(Katelyn's POV)(Afternoon)

I wonder when Kawaii~Chan will be back, I hope it's not too long.

All the sudden I hear my doorbell ring, which is weird since I'm not expecting anyone. I walk to my door and open to see Travis.

"Hey Katelyn." Travis says happily.

"Travis? What are you doing here?" I ask him curiously.

"What, I can't visit my girlfriend?" Travis says as he smirks at me.

"Travis, I'm not your girlfriend." I say rolling my eyes at him.

Travis sighs in defeat "Hey, I can at least try can't I?"

"You can try to, it just won't work." I say starting to get irritated.

Travis looks at me concerned "Katelyn I'm serious, I haven't seen you in two months."

"I-I've been busy." I say trying to lie good enough for him to believe it.

Travis looks at me in disbelief "For two months? All you do is read or watch netflix all the time!"

"So? What's wrong with that?" I ask him seeing if he had an answer to it.

"The problem is that I've been trying to hang out with you ever since you left that day." Travis says sadly.

"I told you Travis, I've been busy." I say looking down at the floor.

"That's such a lie! I know you've been avoiding me!" Travis says angrily.

"I haven't been avoiding you Travis!" I say trying to keep my composure.

"Then why have you been avoiding my texts and calls?" Travis asks curiously.

I look up at Travis "It's personal Travis."

"Stop lying to me Katelyn!" Travis says raising his voice again.

"I'm not lying to you Travis!" I yell back at him.

Travis raises one of his eyebrows at me and asks "Why should I believe you?"

Anger finally starts kicking in "Fine, you want to know what's wrong? I just found out that my mom was on Starlight when we were there and that I can't even trust some of the people that I care about."

Travis looks at me confused "Why? What is your issue with trusting people after they break promises?"

Tears start blurring my vision "My mom made a bunch of promises to my family but never followed through with any of them! She's a liar Travis and I never want to see her again!"

Travis looks at me sadly "K-Katelyn, I didn't know."

"Travis, I need you to get out." I say quietly under my breath.

"What?" Travis asks me confused about what I just said.

"Get out Travis." I say a little louder.

"Why?" Travis asks again curiously.

"Please Travis, I need time alone." I say trying to keep my composure as tears start to form again.

Travis deeply sighs "Fine, call me when you actually want to hang out."

I see Travis get up and head out the door, slamming it as he leaves.

I knew he wouldn't understand, just shows how good of a friend I am.
