Listen to the Cries

Now, onto my attempts at poetry.

Rummaging through the days
Wishing they were more of the craze
Whilst complaining about our lives
And being afraid of the changes that it drives

Aren't we all in the dark pit of hypocrisy
In this world of extreme bureaucracy
Hoping that someone would ask us twice
If our smiles weren't fake, after all, what's the price
All the while not noticing those tears
In those eyes that have been around us for years

So please do pause for a while
And look around at all the faces; it's worthwhile
Watch thousands of emotions in millions of eyes
Try to listen to their cries

Each of us are burdened with worries
We often forget that in our hurries
That we're all been gifted a heart and a brain
And that we're all traveling on the same train
Going to the same destination; death in the end
So let's not pretend anymore and let's not offend
Others just to feel better
'Cause we all feel cold even when we're wearing a sweater

We're all just the same
Running after the wild fame
Hoping that our lives would be like theirs
Whilst climbing up different stairs
Why do we forget that we breathe the same air
And why is it that we compare
Knowing that we're all just the same
Running after the wild fame

But please do pause for a while
And look around at all the faces; it's worthwhile
