There might come a day
when my heart gives out
after holding on for so long
and you may never get to know
about all that it held onto
ever since it started beating. But when the clouds clash
and the rain pours down,
feel the freezing rain drops
on your skin, the way I
used to feel from not
being able to hold you. When the sun bursts
through the horizon,
feel the first ray of sunshine
peeking out through the curtains
caressing your face,
the way I imagined a thousand times
and a thousand more, and more and more. And when the winds whisper
the words I wished to say out loud,
remember that I’m always around,
making sure to enlighten your day
no matter what it took away.Because right now,
at this moment,
these are the things
that keep me going.Because right now,
at this moment,
I’m here.But no one knows
what the next moment brings.
