Zoe looked up from setting the table and towards the front door and her grandfather smiled. "Amber, cero que la puerta es para usted." He said in a sly tone. ("Zoe, I believe the door is for you.")
Zoe raised an eyebrow and looked to her father, who was sitting casually on the couch. He shrugged.
"Answer it, babygirl. I'll grab the boys, since dinner is almost ready." Dominic said as he stood up and kissed his daughter's head.
Zoe nodded and quietly passed the kitchen, where her grandmother and mother were cooking.
She answered the door and who she saw made her scream. "AHHH!"

"Blayke, why does your grandpa hate me?" Quin asked suddenly as he was on his phone, while Blayke and Cristina were playing Battleship.
"I haven't done anything rude, have I?"
"Nah." Blayke shook his head.
"Quin , it's not you. Our grandfather hates everyone. Also…Zoe's his only granddaughter (he care about). Us men are very protective of the women in this family. So you being Zoe's boyfriend, he won't like you for a while."
"That's not true!" Cristina said. "Grandpa always liked Danny!"
At the mention of Danny, Quin's jaw clenched and Andre rubbed his lips together in annoyance.
"Yeah, bro, that's right…but that's just grandfather. He doesn't mind the fact that Danny slapped our sister around like she was a ragdoll."
"Seriously?" Quin said with venom. "He approved of Danny mistreating Zoe?"
"Unfortunately." Blayke sighed.
"He thinks women should know their place. My dad didn't like his point of view though, hence why my dad is so kind and respectful to our mom. But if you haven't noticed, our grandfather treats our grandmother like a slave."
"I've noticed, yeah, but still…" Quin looked angry.
"Well, if that's why your grandfather hates me, then fine. Be my guest. I'll gladly be hated for treating my girlfriend like she's a princess, which is what Zoe is."
