February 15th, 2017…

It's been 3 hours since the last phone call between Quin and his father, and Zoe was still in her little corner, curled up in a ball.

She had to pee, not to mention she was starving, since she had no breakfast that morning.

She wanted to sleep, but there was no way she could sleep with her father-in-law, practically sticking the gun in her face every two minutes, deciding whether to kill her now or wait a little bit longer.

"So where did you and my son get married?" Mr. Lockhart asked, still staring at his gun with intensity.

It was the first time he had spoken to her in so long, Zoe was startled. "What?"

Mr. Lockhart's head snapped up and glared to her. "Where did you and my bastard son get married?"

Zoe whimpered a bit, but didn't say anything that could get her killed. "Um…in Mexico, sir."

"Mexico?" Mr. Lockhart glared. "What the hell where you two doing in Mexico?"

"Family vacation, sir." Zoe whimpered. "We went to the town my grandparents live in."

"So you thought that since you were pregnant, you two thought you'd just get married?" Mr. Lockhart scoffed. "Stupid kids."

"We were kidnapped while there, sir." Zoe blurted out, and that made Mr. Lockhart do a double-take.

"By my ex-boyfriend…he kidnapped us. He said he was going to kill me, so Quin and I decided to take each other's virginities before I died, so we'll always be each other's firsts. We had no protection to use. Quin just wanted to be close to me one last time before I died."

Mr. Lockhart stared at Zoe with wonder. "How come you aren't dead then?"

"My brother, Blayke, saved both of us." Zoe said shyly.

"Blayke saved Quin from the house that was on fire and then they both saved me after my ex had buried me alive. Quin was very beat up from that, but he always tells me he'd do it all over again to save my life. He loves me. I love him. My ex had given me a choice, Mr. Lockhart."

"A choice?"

"Yes." Zoe told him.

"Daniel had said that I go back with him and Quin dies, OR I could die and Quin would go free. I was going to die for your son, so he could live.

And that's what was going to happen. I had no regrets. Your son is my whole world. He is the reason my heart beats every moment of every day. I would never purposely ruin his life or his future.

Trust me, I didn't want to be pregnant at the age of 16, nor did I want to be married at this age either. I'm sure it wasn't in his plan.

But it was God's timing. I couldn't be more excited for this child. Quin and I are planning on taking parenting classes and marriage counseling. We'll be okay…so ready for the future.

Together, Quin and I are a team and have such a strong bond. We are the key to each others' happiness. And if you kill me…you'll be taking away Quin's whole world." Zoe let a lone tear fall. "Don't destroy his life."

Zoe wasn't expecting Mr. Oliver to point the gun to his own head, with tears streaming down his cheeks.

She gasped sharply. "NO!"
