Ch 15: Imprudente Amor (Reckless Love)

October 31st...

"Zoe, we're going to be late to the party if you don't get out here!" Blayke yelled as everyone was gathered in the kitchen.

Cristina was trick or treating tonight with her father, while her mother stayed home to hand out candy to the other children.

Quin, Zoe, and Blayke were heading to a party held at Rain's house. A regular costume party that was going to be a bit wild, but they figured since Rain's dad was a cop and her mom was a doctor that it would be reasonable...

Oh, how wrong they were...

"I knew we shouldn't have written that song." Quin mumbled, straightening out his knight outfit. Yes, he was a "Knight in Shining Armor" this Halloween.

He felt quite powerful and brave...while he waited for his princess to come out of her room.

"It only took time out of our homework and getting ready time."

"Don't ever regret writing a song." Blayke told Quin in a serious tone.

"Music is in our souls...but dang, how long does it take to change into a dress and high heels?"

"Your sister has to have makeup, her crown, and her hair in a pretty ponytail, Blayke." Skyler said as she put the candy bowl next to the front door.

"She's a princess, so she has to be extra glittery tonight."

"You guys constantly treat her like a princess, so can't she just go like herself?" Blayke suggested.

"I heard that!" Zoe said from down the hall. Finally she came in with a silver sparkly dress on that flowed out, but only went to her mid-thighs.

It was strapless, but she had a small sweater over it. She had lots of jewelry, a silver crown, and elbow length gloves on.

Her hair happened to be down with her blonde hair flowing along her shoulders.

She had lots of colorful, but reasonable makeup on, with bits of glitter on her face and in her hair. She had clear high heels on.

"How do I look?" Zoe posed cutely.

"Oh, my daughter, you look amazing!" Skyler said as she hugged the small girl. "You're so sweet and adorable!"

Blayke shook his head. "That dress is too short...oh, who am I kidding? Nobody is going to listen to me on this."

"That's why you and Quin will watch over her tonight." Dominic said, sternly looking at both Blayke and Quin. "Right?"

"Yes, sir." Quin grinned. "Every day."

"Of course, dad." Blayke sighed.

Zoe's cell phone that was in her hands beeped, so she checked it and smiled. "Madison's waiting for us outside."

HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK!

Everyone winced.

"We can hear that." Blayke groaned as he stepped off the stool he had been sitting on. "I'm not sitting in the front with her."

"Scared of Madison?" Quin teased, but Blayke glared.

"Yes, I am." Blayke said simply as he hugged and kissed his parents before leaving. Zoe did the same and the three left...after seeing Cristina dressed as Captain Underpants...

"Zoe, why is your sister jumping on your couches in the living room in her underwear and a cape on?" Madison asked as they jumped in the truck.

She pointed to the open curtains, where Cristina was indeed doing what she described.
