"Nurse Rei will be in here to do an ultrasound on her. Just hope Zoe didn't lose that baby." Blayke told them.

"We saw the clipboard with her information." Skyler told him.

"We know she was stabbed in two different places in the stomach and had to have over 20 stitches all together." Quin added.

"Quin..." Zoe groaned as she woke up.

"Zoe, I'm so sorry." Quin apologized.

"Everything is okay, Marshmallow." She assured her as she grabbed her hand. "I love you."

"I love you too." Quin replied.

"I want to know how my baby is doing." Zoe told them. "Have they checked yet?"

"Nurse Rei told me she's going to check in a few minutes." Her father replied.

"Sorry to interrupt, but I'm coming in to do the ultrasound now." Nurse Rei told them, pushing the machine inside the room.

Everyone but Quin moved out of the way. Blayke moved and stood next to his father. Nurse Rei pulled up a stool and stood upon it to do the procedure.

The nurse lifted the hospital shirt and pulled the bottoms down a little and Quin pulled the blanket slightly up.

While Nurse Rei was rubbing the special gel onto Zoe's  lower stomach and abdomen.

Quin held Zoe's hand as Nurse Rei placed the transducer on her lower stomach. The nurse moved the transducer to several different areas and she couldn't find the baby's heartbeat.

"I'm so sorry." She sighed, laying the transducer down. "There's no heartbeat."

Zoe pulled her hand away from Quin's and covered her face with her hands. Quin felt horrible, but knowing how Zoe felt made him feel even worse.

Everyone looked at the flower princess as she cried. Her heart felt like it shattered into millions of pieces; a part of her had literally died.

Nurse Rei prescribed a medicine to reject the dead unborn baby. Zoe managed to keep herself from falling apart with the help of Quin and her father.

Two Weeks Later

Cristina Cipher sighed as he sat at the breakfast nook on a Saturday morning.

"Odio la lluvia!" She grumbled under her breath loudly.

Zoe blinked as she was putting the plates full of breakfast goods on the settings.

"Why do you hate the rain, sis? It's good for Cali to have some rain. We don't get much, or that's what Quin tells me." Zoe poured him a glass of orange juice, but he kept watching the pouring rain outside.

"What can we do to make you happy, sister?" She asked sweetly as she returned to her mother's side, who was making breakfast.

"Making the rain stop." Cristina whined as she gave up on rain-watching and turned to her food.

"Where's Blayke and Quin?"

"Right here." Blayke came into the kitchen with Quin behind him, both cleaned up and dressed. "Is it raining?"

"Yup." Cristina sighed. "It sucks."

"Come on, Cristina, we can find something fun to do today." Blayke said as he sat down next to her.

"Like what?" Cristina asked, sounding skeptic.

"There's loads of board games, video games, and homework you can do." Skyler said as she putting plates in front of Quin and Zoe's place settings.
