It was a gloomy day, yeah no I'm not starting this story like this. My names Crystal Riggs and I'm a damn demigod! Okay, okay let me go back a bit; My mom's name is Lilli and my dad, or step-dad is Charlie. I lived with them and my older brother Daniel in Hoboken, New Jersey, but I said lived. Yup they said since I just turned 12 that I should know something about my past and that was, drum roll please, Charlie wasn't my dad but a god was! For my protection they sent me to Mother Hebe's house of special children in NYC. And that's where I am now, in a car on my way there.
I sat quietly in the back trying to sleep but the horns and cars stop me. I pulled my beanie over my head and hugged my leather jacket close to my skin. I had never been away from my family and it was kinda scary. Within minutes the driver suddenly appeared at the house.
"That was fast." I said surprised. He smiled taking my bags out of the trunk.
"Magic sweetie." He chuckled. A woman stood at the door staring at me; she looked to be in her mid thirties and wore a white dress. Her brown hair was tied back in a bun with strains that fell onto her olive skin.
"Welcome Ms.Riggs to Mother Hebe's house of special children." She greeted me with a smile.
"Thanks." I said depressively. The building was pretty small for something that was supposed to hold a lot of kids.
"I'm Mother Hebe, come let me show you to your room." I followed her into the house and gasped in complete surprise. It looked like a mansion, with, what looked to be over a hundred rooms! Mother Hebe saw that I had my mouth open and giggled.
"Yes this is what the house really looks like. The mist hides it size from mortals. Now let's get you to your room." She tugged on my light skin leaving a red mark. We entered the room and it was exactly like my room back home. A purple bed, Daccy flowers on the window, a gold painted closet, black dresser, and black desk.
"How'd you do this?"I said in aw.
"Again child magic. Now dinner will be ready soon so unpack you things quickly and I'll send someone to get you." Mother Hebe smile and left. I sat on my bed thinking. This is what my dad is apart of, a group of gods! Do I get everything I want here or does it depend on who you parent is. Okay let me think first, my dad is either Apollo, Hephaestus, Hermes, Dionysus, Poseidon, Hades, or Zeus. Oh wait aren't there other Gods? I shrugged for sure knowing that the minor gods are probably not my father, right? I sat up quickly.
"Yup my life is going to go down hill from now on." While I put my things away I kept think about who my dad was. I wasn't athletic or fast so Hermes was out. I wasn't crafty so no Hephaestus, and I hated parties so I'm sure enough not a daughter of Dionysus. So that left Apollo, Poseidon, Hades and Zeus. Oh wait medicine, yea I can't even put on a bandaid right. So no Apollo. Before I could think any longer someone knocked on my door.
"Crystal Riggs?" A boy my age stood holding a piece of paper. He had dark skin with short black hair. He wore a torn brown shirt and old dirty jeans.
"Yes, and who are you?" I said annoyed.
"Ryan Rigas, son of Hephaestus at your service." He bent down as if I was royalty. I leaned on the door frame.
"What do you want?"
"Oh yes, I am here to take you down to the dining hall." He started to walked and I followed.
"So what happens here?" I asked. Ryan smiled.
"So we wake up and eat breakfast all together, then we go to our classes, and then we practice our godly parents gifts, and then-" I cut him off.
"Do you ever shut up?"
"Oh sorry ADHD, it's a huge problem of mine. All demigods have it."
"Not me just a little dyslexia but I have no problem handling it."
"Impossible all demigods have ADHD and some sorta of sever dyslexia. How do you control it?" Ryan looked very confused at me. I didn't have any ADHD but a tiny bit of dyslexia, it didn't bother me at all.
"It's just never bothered me, I'm probably the most normal out of all of us." I boasted. Soon we made it to the dining hall.
"Okay, we get our food and then we burn some of it as a sacrifice to our parents, got it." I nodded a started picking up food. The place was kinda packed with at least 200 kids and teens. I walked over to the fire pit and threw food in hoping to find out who my dad was soon. I followed Ryan to a table with other kids of Hephaestus. They talked and talked but I didn't really want to. I was finishing up my food when the fire pit exploded. It then suddenly started to spell out words.
The 3 children of death
Once they utter their final breath
The world will finally be at rest, but
For if they live, horror will come to light
And the monsters shall rise and everyone will met their demise."What is this?" Mother Hebe looked at the worlds questionable until realization dawned.
"Children, to you rooms dinner is over." She quickly left the room, as we sat there confused. The younger kids followed her orders and went to bed while the older ones continued to talk.
"I said to your rooms!" Mother Hebe yelled from the hallway. Many groaned and followed her orders.
"What just happened?" I asked.
"I'm not sure but Mother Hebe's probably going to tell us tomorrow. It's not to late, why don't you come over to my room, the Hephaestus kids are making some awesome machines in there." Ryan said.
"No it's okay I'll just go to bed, it's been a long day." I leave him and go into my room.
"This is going to be a horrible start to my new life."
Welcome to my new book! This shit is going to get spicy. SMILE.
