She made him dress casually and led him to his canary yellow Porsche with a secretive smile.

As they drove down the road the radio blasting and wind blowing her hair around her face, he watched the way she sang along to the songs she knew and hummed softly to the melody of others. It didn't matter that they barely knew each other, he could tell she liked music. She made this, the future, seem so easy and even though he never did, he compared her smile to those of the women he used to date. They were never this genuine.

"We're here!", Kaycee announced with a wide grin as they stopped at a park. "I picked this place because it was where I had my childhood. My mom used to take me here before she left."

"Where'd she go?"

Kaycee shrugged giving him a look that described her emotions so well. He reached over and ran a finger across her cheek. The moments ticked by as they stared into one another's eyes.

"We should go," she spoke softly dreading the broken moment.

He opened his door first and slipped out going to her side and opening hers with an extended hand to help her out.

"Jane had the cooks prepare us a picnic and I think everything is in the trunk."

Eric moved to open the trunk and handle everything even as Kadence insisted that she help out.

He laid out their picnic blanket using a couple rocks to weigh down the ends and placed the basket in the middle when Kadence smacked his hand and began removing the contents. She smiled down at the actual food when she noticed not only were they Eric's but her own favorites with a little bit something extra. A bottle of wine and two glasses were the last thing in the basket.

"Do you wanna do the honors?", she asked.

"You know wine can be considered legal to drink for minors."

"Good to know. Not that I need an excuse to drink wine. Have been taking a sip from my Mom's glass since I was 5..."

Eric chuckled at her admission and the way she let her blonde hair fall before her blushing face.

"Well you have me for the entire day, Miss Chapman. Anything you want to do now or questions to ask me?"

Kaycee breathed out a sigh pushing back her hair behind her ear and shrugged. It wasn't like this was their first date but this was something crucial to their relationship.

"I'm 19. Young and I know you think I'm naive but... I've learned a lot about heartache, disappointment, love, anger, responsibility, and I know what marriage entails. So... What do you want from this experience?", she pushed out as her fingers fidgeted with the hem of her sundress.

"I, uh, I... Are you familiar with the movie 'The Notebook'?"

Kaycee rolled her eyes but nodded.

"It's not what you think. I literally fell in love with you the moment I heard the story of you saving me. How many people, women for that matter, would you find rescuing a man in a dark alley?", he started. Eric took note of Kaycee biting her lip and keeping her face hidden. "But then I saw you and I just saw this halo over your head. I would be lying if I didn't say I thought you were a real life angel. In reality, I want what anyone wants in marriage. Love, Friendship, Respect, and Happiness."

She hummed softly to herself at his answer. Realistically speaking if she married him there would be no question of her finances something she always struggled with and he would respect her but...

Love.

Is that really why he wants to marry her?

"I get it. I do. Are you in love with me, Eric?"

"I am."

"And what do you love about me?", her head tilted.

"The sweet way you care about Jane even when she's supposed to make sure you're comfortable. I love how you look for me in the mornings just to make sure I'm okay. I love how you read in your pajamas and yell at it like it's alive. There's a million and one other reasons but--"

She kissed him ending his rambling and secured her fingers in his hair. It just felt right. Everything felt right with him.

"Maybe we shouldn't wait..."

"You mean we can do it."

"If everyday feels like a fairytale with you then what am I waiting for?", Kadence admitted. "But first I want to officially meet your mother."

"No problem, future Mrs. Davidson."
