Kaycee sat in the waiting room chair for a couple more hours before she was actually

admitted to see the strange man, recently declared as Eric Davidson. She carried the bottle of water a nurse had given her for her nerves. The woman could barely sit for more than five minutes before pacing.

'Uhm, 316B. He's awake and asking for you,' A nurse walks up to Kaycee with a main focus of her clipboard. She was scribbling something as she checked her watch a couple times. Kaycee hurried past her to the 300 hall in search of the room.

'Knock. Knock. Oh sorry, I should have actually knocked. I'm so, so sorry!' Kaycee had burst through the door to catch Mr. Davidson naked from the waist up. She covered her eyes to spare him his modesty as he chuckled lightly. It was a little awkward. 'Maybe, I should...'

'No, don't leave. Not before I give you whatever you desire.'

'Huh?'

'I will pay you, buy you, or even give you whatever your heart desires. Just name it! I may not be the typical rich guy, but I am willing to give my Hero anything they truly want.' Eric sat there with his eyebrow cocked.

Kaycee walked towards him with a timid smile, not sure what to say, do, or think. She looked over at the man who had hours before been bloodied and bruised. It seemed so strange to hear those words from a complete stranger.

'You do-don't me-mean that... No one every means what they say. I just want to go!' Kaycee tried to leave but she heard a groan from the man. He was heaving himself out of the bed by himself. She rushed to help him out and tried to not hurt him anymore than he was. 'Hey, hey, lay back down!'

He, Eric, shook his head and smirked like a cocky bastard. Kaycee frowned. She hated seeing anyone being hurt or in pain.

'Not until you tell me what your heart wants...' Eric stared into her eyes trying to search deep but she was an expert at hiding.

She opened her mouth and with a soft sigh whispered her innermost desire.

'I,uhm, I wish that I didn't have to struggle each day for something like a bed or decent clothes. Not wealth, but enough to help me get on my own two feet.'

Eric seemed stunned at the simple request. She had asked for her poverty to be replaced with something that everyone should look to contribute to and hopefully find. Strength. No one should have to struggle when there are so many people around to help.

'I wanna help... I'll give everything to you on one condition!'

She became confused. He had told her that he would give her anything she wished for but there was always a catch. She swiped at the lone tear rolling down her cheek.

'Marry me...' He whispered into her ear...

And she fainted.
