'Whoa there, Sleeping Beauty.' He whispered into her ear as she slowly blinked to conciousness. The proximity was too much. She just needed to know that this was not some sick twisted joke or foolish plan to break her already fragile heart. 'Definitely sure you are my princess now.'
Kaycee groaned as the lights blinded her and she was lying in a bed beside his. She glared at him half-heartedly still obsessed over his health. He had been hurt badly.
'I'm not a princess. And why the request for a bride when you are so rich and cocky? You don't even know me!' Kaycee sat up with care as she felt her head spin. She watched Eric smile with that handsome smile of his. It pulled her in like a moth to a flame. 'I saved your life. I didn't want to become permanently apart of it.'
He watched her closely seeing the fear in her eyes. Ahah! There was the truth behind the rejection.
'You're scared I'm going to break your heart. For what it's worth, I have had my heart broken countless times so I can relate. But when I look into your eyes I see genuine care and concern. You could have asked for anything but you asked for help instead of a million dollars or a brand new car.'
He seemed shocked by her answer. She shrugged crossing her arms over her chest as she stared at the floor.
Eric knew what he had to do. He had to give them time. Everybody needs time.
'Give me three months to make you fall in love and then if I do... then you'll let me walk you down the aisle to become Mrs. Eric James Davidson. I promise you will not regret it plus you can stay at my condo for the time being.' Kaycee's eyes widened but she couldn't deny how amazing that sounded.
'Three months... okay.' She gave in and accepted him.
That's how sleeping beauty awoke from a lifetime of rest.

(3 years before)
Her mother held her by the shoulders as she pointed to the church. It was empty but her mother told her someone was waiting on the inside and that Kaycee must wait in a pew.
She cried for her mother not to leave but the sick woman just walked away already forgetting her own child. Kaycee stared ahead at the door leading to her future. She pushed it open and smiled.
The fear you feel as an adult can't touch you when you are an innocent. That doesn't last long when everything is ripped from you without your knowing it. Her mother wasn't coming back and she was bound to end up all alone.
When she was found, she was placed into foster care until she was old enough to work and got herself emancipated before she ran away. The worst part about being a runaway is providing for yourself the best part is knowing that someone cared enough to consider you missing. She was a nobody.
(Now)
Kaycee put the key into the lock after she had walked up the stairs to the fortieth floor before getting on the elevator. Great exercise but 85 floors. She walked into the great looking apartment/house. It was amazing.
She walked to the fridge and removed a sparkling water along with a banana as she began a tour of her new home.
It was going to be an interesting three months.
