I was woken by the angry glare of the sun. I tried to bury my head in my pillow, instead of it's usual fluffiness and softness, I felt the hard, rough floor.
Wait. I have school today.
I quickly sat up, bewildered, and looked around me. This isn't my room. Memories began to flood in about what happened yesterday.
I looked to my left, Ryder was next to me, curled up, snoring gently. His back was faced to me. He must be exhausted.
I could hear noise coming from below at the busy street.
I was on a very tall building.
He must flew me up here, away from everything I had. My parents must be worried. Sam too.I sighed. I had flew away with a complete stranger, had no idea where I was going. But if he didn't come on time, I would be dead. The Cheshire Cat is scarier than I thought she would be. I still don't believe that she's my sister, it's scary to be related to her.
I sighed. I had only the clothes I'm wearing, and my pho- My Phone!
Where is it? I remembered holding onto it while he was he carried me through the sky. I checked my pocket and found it laying safely in there.
Ryder slowly opened his eyes, "Morning." he said, sitting up and running his hands through his brown hair. Great. His awake, I need answers. I looked at the time. "It's noon already, but hey."
Ryder smiled and shook his head. I watched as he sat up and stretched. I had to admit, he sure is good looking. "Like the view?" I raised my eyebrows and sighed. Boys...
"Yeah, it's just that the cars are noisy." I answered while looking down. He looked confused for awhile then sighed. At least he gets it. "That's not what I mean..."
I smiled and stuck my tongue on, showing that I actually understand. I knew exactly what he meant. I've got a playful glare from him in return. To be honest, the 'view' wasn't that bad...
He smirked. "Oh, so you do like it," he said as he leaned closer to me, I realised what he said and a blush formed on my face.
"Oh, did I told you I can read minds?"
Wait, what. "I don't believe you."
"It's your choice," he said casually.
"What number am I thinking?" I challenged him. Huh, he will never guess what number I am thi-
"You're thinking about pizza."
A smirk spread across the face. I paused. He got it correct."Of course I got it correct." he chuckled teasingly. I pouted and glared at him, all he did was smiled back. Silence began to form until my stomach growled hungrily. I looked away, a but embarrassed.
"Well I'm hungry too, what do you want for lunch?" Ryder said, indicating the streets with a nod. "How about that one?"
He pointed at the small cute shop across the street. It had plants on the outside and flowers growing out of small pots wa hanging on the ceiling. It seemed much more like a flower shop then a restaurant. There was a giant word, 'Flowers' written in cursive with dark purple and blue shades as the sign. Flowers, huh.
"Are you sure it's a restaurant? I don't even have money to pay." I didn't like people paying for my meals, but I didn't have a choice. And he doesn't seem like he carries money with him.
"Positive"
"Wait, home are we getting down?" I asked. Then noticed how stupid my question was.
"Well you can jump or take the stairs?" he said sarcastically. "Or you can
just...."He started to float a few inches of ground and opened his arms. "You pick." he gave me that same playful smirk.
I walked towards him, and he grabbed me by the waist again, and jumped off. I felt warmness seeping from his hands to my waist. I blushed slightly and looked down so he wouldn't noticed. It was hopeless since he could read minds.
"Well, at least you know." he chuckled. I blushed even more buried his face in his chest.
We landed in front of what seemed like the back of the restaurant. It looked totally different then the front. Empty can of spray paint laying on the floor, and rubbish everywhere. The walls were spray painted with different colours. There was a symbol but I didn't bothered looking at it.
Ryder let go of me and I felt a twinge of loss, I shrugged away quickly. Hold yourself together. You just met him. He picked up a spray paint there seemed to be half empty and sprayed a weird symbol on the wall. He turned around with the same smirk on his face.
"Falling for me already?"
I kicked him in the shin, hard. "Hey, my mind, my control. Stop reading it." I warned him. "So where's the food?"
"Ow..." he said in pain as he walked towards the door. "You kick hard." he slowly pushed the door open.
"You first?"
I walked towards the him and stopped. I had noticed something weird. I stared at him for awhile and started to back.
"Uh...Ashley?" he asked, confused. I took another step back. No, this couldn't be. He was just like the Cheshire Cat.
"Why can't I hear your heartbeat?"
