The whole gang was on the roof of the school doing what they all loved most, blading. Valt decided to just watch as the other guys practiced blading. He was too busy day dreaming and being way deep in thought.
"Valt?"
Daigo tried getting his attention bit it was no use.
"Chomp!"
Keru said as he bit Valt's face.
"What? Oh... Sorry."
"You good, dude?"
Honcho asked. Shu looked at Valt worriedly waiting for him to tell everyone what was wrong. He walked over to the bench and sat down next to him.
"Valt, what's up?"
Shu asked as he placed a hand on Valt's knee in a comforting manner. Valt's eyes widened at the sudden touch from Shu.
"You guys are worrying for nothing. I promise you, there's nothing wrong. I just got lost in my thoughts."
"Prove it then, battle me!"
Wakiya demanded to Valt as he raised up his Bey, Wyvron. Valt gave a nod as he got on the opposite side of Wakiya at their stadium.
"Ready... Set!"
Daigo called out.
"3... 2... 1... Let it... RIP!!"
Everyone said in unison as Wakiya and Valt launched their beys.
"Yeah! Go Valtryek, you got this!"
Valt cheered. While everyone surrounded the bey stadium as the two battled, Shu couldn't help but stare at blue spikey haired blader. He gave a soft, warm smile as he watched his best friend battle Wakiya.
"Wyvron wins with a ring out finish."
Daigo announced, bringing Shu back to reality. Valt grabbed Valtryek and his launcher as he headed off the roof.
"That was fun guys, but I'm gonna head out. I'll see ya tomorrow."
Valt said as he smiled. He looked at Shu, signaling him to follow. Shu gave a nod and waited for Valt to get further away before he left as well. He ended up getting a text from Valt.
'Meet me at beach.'
The text read. Shu packed his stuff as well as he said bye to his teammates. Wakiya, Daigo, Ken and Honcho knew that Shu and Valt were just leaving so they could be alone together. They weren't stupid and Shu and Valt made it obvious that they were.

"Hey."
Shu greeted his spikey haired best friend as he sat on the sand next to him.
"Hey, Shu. Great practice today, huh?"
"Yeah, but what was going through your head earlier? You were so lost in thought it seemed, and I saw you smile a few times."
Shu was curious to know what his buddy was thinking about. He had an idea of what it was, but it was more so him hoping that Valt was thinking about him.
"I can't tell you, Shu. Not yet at least."
Valt explained. Shu respected that. The two bladers watched as the dolphins jumped in and out of the water. Valt loved to watch when they did that. It calmed him. Shu stared into Valt's brown eyes as he still watched the dolphins. He gave another warm smile as he scooted closer to Valt without him knowing it.
"Hmm, you really like dolphins, don't you, Valt?"
Shu asked trying to start a conversation.
"How can I not? How can anyone not love dolphins?"
