"it's intoxicating;
the distant faded memories that lace my brain,
how they spark at random,
bringing forth different emotions:
complete desolation,
utter happiness,
perhaps anxiety,
or rage,
even lust.

to feel something like that
over something you hardly remember
is so fucking frustrating
...yet, also ecstatic.

to know you can still feel something
other than just the static numbness
that fills your heart,
leaving it cold and dim.

i've had mixed thoughts about you;
i've said i've hated you,
i've said i've loved you,
and often i forget about you,
but i can never forget the past.

i can never forget,
that kiss,
beneath the withered oak trees,
lit by the dancing stars
in the smoke-filled
navy sky.

i can never forget,

sydney."
