Chapter Twenty-Eight

My eyes! My eyes are yellow!

I blinked and rubbed my eyes but it still continued to glow a golden yellow colour.

"Nina! Nina, what's wrong?" I heard Gabriel yell as he started pounded on the door. "Nina, answer me!"

I didn't answer him instead I just continued looking at myself in the mirror. What's happening to me?

"Nina! Answer me! What's wrong? Are you okay? Dammit Nina answer me!"

I closed my eyes and leant against the sink as my body shook a little. "I'm- uh- I'm not hurt."

"What's going on? Open the door!"

My whole body shuddered again and I gasped loudly before I tried to control my breathing. I was so focused on calming myself down that I didn't notice Gabriel had broken the door down until I felt his arms around me.

"Nina." Gabriel said softly. "What's wrong?"

I took a deep breath before facing him and opening my eyes. "What's happening to me?"

"What do you mean?" Gabriel asked as he frowned. "Are you okay?"

"Wha- my eyes! Look at my eyes!" I yelled surprised he hasn't commented on them yet.

"I am looking at your eyes."

"They're yellow!"

Gabriel blinked and just looked at me as if I was crazy. "Nina, your eyes are green."

"No! Look!" I pulled him closer before I turned to face the mirror. "My eyes are ye..."

I stopped abruptly when I saw my reflection again. My eyes were back to its original colour. I shook my head and blinked rapidly. They were yellow before!

Gabriel reached and twirled me around so I was facing him. "Okay, I think you need some rest. Today was a very stressful day for you."

"Gabriel I swear it was yellow just a minute ago." I told him as I pulled away from him and turned to face the mirror.

I shook my head as I tried to understand what just happened. They were yellow, I know what I saw.

"Okay." Gabriel simply said as he pulled a small towel from the rack on the wall.

"You believe me right?" I questioned him as I threw him a sideways glance.

Gabriel didn't say anything and tried to wipe my face with the small towel he was holding. I had forgotten about the water on my face.

I moved my head slightly before he could touch me. "Right?"

"I believe that you believe your eyes changed colour." Gabriel said slowly.

"You don't believe me? I know what I saw, I'm not crazy!" I yelled at him, feeling myself getting a little worked up.

"You're not crazy." Gabriel told me softly before taking a step closer to me. "You saw what you think you saw."

I glared at him as he came closer, he reached out with the towel to wipe away the water from my almost dried face but I took a step backwards. "Don't touch me."

"Nina." Gabriel as he ignored what I said and came closer. His fingers gently brushed my cheeks.

"I said don't touch me!" I shrieked pushing him with my arms.

When I pushed him I expected him to stumble a little, what I didn't expect was him to go flying across the room and crashing into a wall.

My mouth flew open as I just stared at him slumped against the wall on the floor. "Gabriel?" I whispered.
