Chapter Twenty-Three

"Dr Montgomery?"

"Ah, Nina. Hello, I didn't think you'd be here." Dr Montgomery smoothly said looking at Gabriel and me before looking back at him.

I looked at her in confusion. "What are you doing here? Wait are you even a real doctor?"

Dr Montgomery looked offended by what I said. "Of course I am a real doctor. I worked very hard to obtain my medical degree, it was almost impossible for women to become doctors a hundred and fifty years ago. I also-"

"A hundred and fifty years ago?" I interrupted with a gasp before it finally clicked in. "You're a Werewolf!"

"Actually I am a Shifter." She clarified with a small smile.

"I-I." I stuttered before turning to Gabriel. "My doctor is a Werewolf?"

Gabriel gave me a weak smile which disappeared when I glared at him. "Don't freak out okay? It's not a big deal."

"I'm not freaking out."

Gabriel looked at me sceptically and then continued. "It would have been very hard to explain to a human doctor why things would have been different with our baby. The baby won't be the same as human babies, it's going to be different. For now it is similar but as time goes on the baby won't be."

I nodded showing him I understood. "Did you guys do anything that isn't normally done?" I asked quietly.

"I'll give you both some privacy." Dr Montgomery said, shutting the front door and walking towards the exit of the room. "When you're done Gabriel, we need to talk. It's important."

Gabriel looked at Dr Montgomery before nodding and she left the room silently.

"Hear me out first before you get angry." Gabriel said before he blinked. He reached out and brushed my cheeks. "You still had tears on your cheeks."

"Oh, thanks." I muttered, I had completely forgotten I was crying just a few minutes ago. My mood swings were all over the place.

"The day you had you panic attack, I was scared. From the way it looked, you were going to lose the baby. Just after we had the appointment with Dr Lane, I had Rita- Dr Montgomery transferred as our doctor. I was terrified at the thought of losing my child just a day after I found out I was going to be a father, I had to do something. There was a blood transfusion, you were given my blood. My blood can heal like any other Lycan's blood."

So that explains why Leah told me I cut my hand but there wasn't anything on my hand. Gabriel's blood healed me. It was a little weird but people had blood transfusion, so I guess it's not too bad. The only thing I was worried about was having a Lycan's blood in me. "So that's it? Nothing else?"

Gabriel smiled. "You're taking better than I thought you would. Do you remember after that day you were given iron and vitamin tablets?"

I nodded wondering where he was going with this.

"Some of the tablets had a little trace of my blood in it, just in case anything happened or the pregnancy was taking a toll on you." Gabriel told me slowly as he observed me closely.

"I've been having pills filled with your blood?" I was officially grossed out, transfusion was one thing but actually having someone's blood on a regular basis was another.

"There weren't filled with blood, they just had traces of my blood in them." Gabriel quickly explained. "They were actual iron and vitamin tablets."

"Eww, that's nasty." I shuddered feeling like some sort of Vampire now. "Is there anything else I should be aware of?"
