Chapter Thirty
Dufara?
He's a Lycan?
"You're a Lycan." I whispered as I stared at him.
Vladamir smiled flashing me his white straight teeth. "Ah, so Gabriel has mentioned me."
I know I should have said or done something but all I did was just stare at him. He just killed three people violently and here he was smiling as if he didn't have a care in the world.
Vladamir eyes flittered down to my stomach before he inhaled sharply as if he was sniffing something. His eyes then met mine and he gave me another smile. "I think it would be wise to leave, we do not know how many there are."
I still didn't say anything and Vladamir let out a sigh. Without a word he picked up the man closest to him and shoved his body in the back seat, he then grabbed the man that was lying on the windshield and tossed in the car too.
He made his way to the man who laying at Leah's feet but stopped when Leah stumbled back. When I saw Leah's face my heart tightened, I have never seen her look so lost or scared before. Her face was completely drained of colour and she was trembling.
This immediately broke me out of my weird trance I seemed to have been in, I walked around the car and reached her side. "Leah? Leah, are you okay?"
Leah looked towards me, her blue eye wide with shock and fear. She shook her head and closed her eyes before taking a step back. Vladamir grabbed the man lying near Leah's feet and also put him in the car before heading over to the driver's side. He slammed the door shut and began driving the car away from us.
Not really sure what he was doing or going to do I turned towards Leah again. "Leah, we need to go."
She opened her eyes and swallowed. "He just killed those people."
"I know, I'm shocked too but we need to go. There could be others." I told her softly. For once I had to be strong for the both of us. I was scared, I still am scared but Leah never expected that. She heard me tell her about how I met Luca and my granddad but she's never actually been in that situation before.
"Nina, he-he ripped that guy's heart out." Leah chocked out as she shuddered. "I think I'm going to be sick."
I closed my eyes for a second as the image ran through my head before I shook my head and reopened my eyes. "I know, we can talk about this later. Please Leah, we need to leave."
Leah nodded and I put my hand out for the keys, Leah's always the driver but I knew there was no way she would be able to drive properly now. Leah's hands trembled as she slowly handed over the keys but before it reached my hands, someone snatched it away.
"I will drive you back to your house." Vladamir announced from behind me.
I looked back at Vladamir warily, even though he saved our lives and is a Lycan it doesn't mean we can trust him.
Vladamir must have realised that and quickly spoke. "I mean you no harm Nina, Gabriel is an old friend of mine and I will always protect what is his. Especially his child and the mother of his child."
I didn't bother asking him how he knew my name, it seemed so minor compared to everything else, like how he knew where I was and that I'm pregnant. I hesitated for a couple of seconds before looking at Leah for some help but she was staring at Vladamir with fear and distrust.
I turned back towards Vladamir to say yes and found him standing there holding one of the back doors of the car open. He motioned for us to get in and I grabbed Leah's arms, pulling her along with me towards the back seats.
