I looked in the kitchen and saw a bunch of cupcakes sitting on the counter. I quietly walk in to get one, trying my best to not get noticed. It doesn't help if the floor creaks with every step I take. I get on the floor and crawl towards the cupcakes. This method seems to be a little quieter.
It looks like nobody is near, so I slowly stand up and reach for a cupcake. Once I was holding one, I brought it up to my mouth to take a bite.
I turn around and see someone standing nearby watching me. I wasn't expecting that. I screamed and the cupcake in my hand flew out and landed right on top of his head.
I covered my mouth with my hands, trying to hold in my laughter. "Sorry, I didn't know other people were here," I said.
"Well I'm here," the blonde boy say.
"Obviously," I said under my breath, hoping he didn't hear me. I don't think he did because when I looked at him, he was licking the frosting off of the cupcake.
He looked up and caught me staring at him. "Um, can I help you?" he asked.
Crap, I thought to myself. After not answering him, he reached for a different cupcake and threw it at me. "What was that for?" I loudly asked him.
"Not telling me your name," he said.
I grabbed the cupcake he threw at me and yelled, "Autumn! Who are you?" while throwing it at him.
He moved to the side and dodged it. Instead, it hit the cupboard behind him. It slid down on the door and he picked it up to eat. "I'm Niall. Autumn, why are you wasting all of these cupcakes?"
"I don't know, I just found them here," I replied.
He took another bite and stopped. "So these aren't yours?" I shook my head. "Then who?" I shrugged my shoulders. His mouth fell open, but he continued to eat the rest of the cupcake. I guess he didn't really care since it was already ruined.
Heavy footsteps could be heard. I slowly turned my head around to see who it was. The person stood in the doorway and looked shocked. I'm guessing that is the person that made these. "I have to go," I quietly say while getting up.
"After you both clean this mess up," he said. The tone of his voice wasn't that nice. We probably put him in a bad mood. Whoops.
Niall and I both groan and start to pick up until he leaves. "This would not have happened if you threw that cupcake at me," Niall said.
I roll my eyes. "I would not have thrown it if you didn't come from nowhere and scare me."
He chuckles and I notice he picks another cupcake from the counter. I ignore him and continue to pick up the mess around me. That is, until a cupcake comes flying to me.
"Really? How mature," I say to him while giggling. I get another cupcake and walk over to him while he is wiping the cupboard. I tap his should and he turns around. I brought the cupcake to his face and wipe it all around him.
I stand up and run away because he is probably going to do the same to me now to be even. I let out a few shrieks as I turn corners and notice he is catching up to me.
I turned around and saw he was closer to me. I sped up and, without looking, ran into the couch. This caused me to fall forward, landing on the cushions. Niall must not have expected the stop because he did the same, only landing right on top of me.
He was carrying more than one cupcake, but they all managed to get in my hair. "Niall!" I shouted, starting to get angry at him now. I will have to wash it all out as soon as I can.
He begins laughing and his face is turning red from all the laughter. To my surprise, he started to eat what was left of the cupcakes. I'm not sure why he did that but if that makes him happy.
In the end, I guess we did a good job cleaning up the mess we made. Though we may not have picked up every crumb, all the cupcakes were used in our little war. I wonder if they were for anything important.
