I was sitting on the couch waiting for Niall to return from making popcorn. It feels like he was taking a long time, but that only gave me more time to choose a movie for us to watch.
Moments later, he walks back into the room with a bowl filled with popcorn. "Savannah, did you pick a movie yet?" he asked me.
"Savvy," I corrected him. I prefer Savvy over Savannah.
"Sorry," he apologizes. "Savvy, did you pick a movie for us to watch?"
I looked at the stack of movies I was holding. "Let's watch Titanic!" He set up everything and we were now sitting on the couch while waiting for it to start.
We were eating the popcorn quickly and ran out after only ten minutes. Our hands did brush a few times, but we kept quiet and focused on the movie. Each time our hands touch, I could feel myself blushing a little. It was a good thing he was paying attention to the movie and not me at those times.
Despite the many times I watched this movie, I always end up crying when Jack dies. This time I know Niall was looking at me. Is that a smile on his face? How is he not sad over this?
He sets the empty bowl on the table and moves even closer to me. "Savvy," he says and turns my head as I look at him.
"What?" I asked him. I am a little upset he made me look away from the TV, but I've seen this movie plenty of times.
"Nothing, it's just that I want to tell you something."
I am confused now. "What do you mean?"
"I love you," he blurts out. I can feel my cheeks starting to turn red from the unexpected words he just said.
I was going to say something but was stopped when Niall leaned in and kissed me. I could feel my heart beating faster now. I don't think we will be able to watch what's left of the movie.
I back up, breaking the kiss. "I love you too," I said and hugged him. I know being in his arms makes the two of us happy. I couldn't ask to be with anyone else right now.
