Aaron POV
I had just left my therapists house. My body was somewhat sore as I still wasn't one hundred percent recovered from my year stuck in bed.
But that didn't matter, I refused to let it stop me from running all the way back to the house to check on Aphmau. Despite the fact that I had asked Melissa to check on her and text me if I was needed. I had received no such message, but I still worried about Aph. In a matter of minutes I arrived back at the house. I ran inside and found Melissa on the living room couch reading a trashy magazine.
"So, how is she?" I didn't waste time with a hello, she may have said she's okay, but I knew Aphmau to be capable of telling a lie to prevent me from worrying about her. Melissa sighed as she flipped the page of her magazine, her ears twitching in her annoyance. "Why, hello to you too, brother." She shook her head at me before closing the mag and tossing it lightly onto the couch next to her, crossing her arms afterwards. I could tell what she was going to do, it was going to be one of those older sibling scolding situations. I sighed and rolled my eyes.
"Okay, I'm sorry for not greeting you first. But I'm worried about Aphmau, okay? So if you could save the scathing remark hiding behind your teeth till after I know my woman is okay that would me much appreciated." I had said it all in a rush, pleading Melissa with my eyes to spare me the guilt trip. Her lips were in a thin line, but I saw them twitch slightly and pull up at the corners before she burst out laughing. My eyebrows furrowed and I grimaced in her direction, waiting for her to stop laughing, somewhat impatiently.
Once she had regained her composure and wiped the tears she had shed from laughing away, she shook her head at me. "Aaron, I did tell you I would alert you to any change in her condition. Nothing has changed silly! She's sleeping peacefully. I checked on her regularly." I sighed, glancing towards the stairs that lead to the second floor, and our room. "Go, Aaron. I know you want to check on her yourself. Make sure you mention that now that you're done therapy we can explore the island properly. That aught to put a spring in her step. Or, you know... take her to bed, that seems to do the same thing!" She burst out laughing as I glared daggers at her. I quietly walked away from her and towards the stairs.
I took them practically three at a time. I couldn't get to mine and her room fast enough. Once I reached the door and entered, I sighed, relieved to know she was okay. She was sleeping peacefully. Quiet snores escaping her lips. She still looked slightly pale, but not as much as she did when I left her. I crept into the room, silently closing the door and walking over to our bed. The vision before me made my heart melt, and me smile. She was across most of the bed, her head on my pillow. She was on her back and had kicked off the blanket she had been sleeping in when I left. Her head turned to the side and partly buried in my pillow. Likely because it already smelled like me. She was still wearing my purple sweater.
Under it she had a pair of red panties and a red tank top. (I say tank top cuz as a woman I know how uncomfortable sleeping in a bra is. And ain't no way imma do that to Aphmau!) The sweater was wide open, and the tank top had rolled up, exposing much of her midriff. I swallowed hard at the lump of desire in my throat. As much as I would love to make love with her right now, she is still recovering. (Haha! Psych! Admit it, you thought it was gonna lead to a sex scene! Well too bad for you!!! 😂😂😂😂) I silently climbed into bed next to her and pulled her against me. Cuddling her and kissing the top of her head. I felt her nuzzle into me and smiled as my heart did a little flip flop in my chest.
I sat there for about thirty minutes, letting her get a bit more rest. Shortly after the thirty minute mark though, I tilted her head up, and gently brushed my lips against hers. It didn't take much to wake her up, and when I noticed her eyes open I smiled at her. "How you feeling babe?" She smiled over at me and yawned before replying. "I'm feeling much better. How did therapy go?" "It went well and I'm now officially done! So, Melissa wanted me to tell you that we now can explore all Starlight has to offer." I watched her eyes sparkle in excitement. "When do we leave?" "Tomorrow if we can all get packed up by then."
I've never seen Aphmau jump out of bed so fast, even for the snow which she also loves. She ran about our room grabbing a bag and her things. I sighed and laughed at her. "Babe, you have to pack properly. I know you're excited but we need to do this slowly." She frowned up at me, but nodded none the less. We spent the rest of the evening packing our things and spending time together. When the next morning rolled around we got up and brought our stuff downstairs. I was glad to see Aphmau excited. We needed some fun to help overcome the bad things from a year ago. I quickly checked my bag to make sure I had everything. I decided to bring the ring, didn't think I would find somewhere to ask her while at the parks, but you never know.
We spent a good portion of the morning waiting for the others to get packed. Garroth took his sweet time which aggravated both Melissa and Aphmau. We passed the time by watching Netflix, and once he finally said he was ready, we all came down to discuss what was to happen next.
-end of chapter. Sorry I'm not writing as fast as I want to. Writers block is a bitch and for whatever reason I get sleepy when I write things lol. Anyways, thank you guys sooo much for 900 reads!!! If you like what I do feel free to leave a like or follow me.-
