Aaron POV

We had been managing to keep ourselves away from the Guardian Forces quite well for around a month now. Our group had managed to regroup fully, including the other wolves. We kept moving every few days, and had found the werewolf hide out. Sylvanna and Eric had been there when we had arrived.

No one yet, knows that Aph is expecting. And I plan to keep it that way. I think Sylvanna is starting to catch on though, since when Aphmau has morning sickness, she gets this expression on her face, as if she knows what is going on.

The other wolves have the GF patrol times down to an exact time, every day. And there are plans to make an escape from the island.

I am scared though, that something will happen to keep us from going home. All I want is to be back home, with my friends, and my fiancé. We did now have to start thinking about how we wanted our nursery to look. We need to go over things like baby names.

Though as scary as things are at the moment, the prospect of becoming a father created this bubble of excitement within me. At times, it was hard to contain within myself. All I wanted to do was walk up to Aph, and just rest my hands on her still flat belly.

The thought of the new life growing in her was awe inspiring to me. The fact that it's a baby that her and I made.

There was still things that frightened me about this though. This child would likely be the successor to the Ultima Curse. I wouldn't let this child go through what my dad put me through. I would teach my child how to deal with their anger in a healthy way.

A snapping of fingers brought me out of my own thoughts of my expanding family to see my sister in front of me.
"Aaron, I need to speak to you about something. It's rather important."
She'd quietly make her way to a corner of the cave where we could speak privately. I had just barely made it to her when she turned and asked me the one question I had been hoping to avoid.

"Is Aphmau pregnant?"
My jaw must have hit the floor, and my eyes must have popped out of their sockets because my sister rolled her eyes, and used her hand to snap my mouth shut with a somewhat audible click as my teeth connected.

I was about to respond when all hell broke loose.
Guardian Forces burst into the cave, attacking anyone who came close to them. Myself and Melissa began to run and gather the family.

I was looking for Aphmau when I saw him.....

Ein...

The little shit had a smirk planted on his face, his slate grey eyes seeming to miss no detail, but still seeming to be looking for one thing and one thing only.

I could feel my rage bubbling just below the surface as I began to see red. I tightly balled my hands into fists, but decided to turn away and look for Aph when I heard her scream. Turning back to Ein, I saw Aph being roughly handled by a GF, and being brought to Ein.

Everything became slow motion. Our friends started to try to get to Aph, as Ein pulled her away. The GF keeping everyone at bay. Once my woman was out of sight, I heard the pull of a pin as one of the Guardian Forces threw a grenade at us. A few seconds later, the space of the cave filled with brightly coloured smoke.

And by the time it was gone, Aphmau, Ein, and the GF were all gone too.

All I could think was how I had failed to protect my family.

I was enraged, the thought of my soon to be wife, and my unborn child being in the clutches of that sadistic and obsessive prick was almost to much for me to handle.

Thinking of my family though, I barely manage to keep my eyes from changing colour. Standing up, I checked around to see if anyone had been hurt.

Everyone seemed to be alright. Sylvanna was crying into Eric's chest. Garroth, Lucinda, Zane, and Kim all looked as if they were done with Ein's shit, and to be honest, I was too. Katelyn looked like she was chomping at the bit, I had completely forgot that she and Ein had a bad past due to what he had done to Casey back in high school.

Travis was barely holding her back.

During this commotion, I closed my eyes, and listened for the familiar sound....

Thump thump

Her heartbeat sounded rather far away already, but quietly, and carefully, I followed it. I would not let Ein win this time!

Aphmau POV

I found myself chained to a post. One moment I was in the cave, thinking about my baby, and the next, I was awake, chained to a post of some sort. Ein looking down at me with this self satisfied smirk.

I had been aware that he had lost his damn mind after he pulled those stunts with the forever potions. But something was different this time.

He looked.... unhinged. The madness sat just below the surface of his grey eyes. His hair was unkempt, tufts of it sticking out every which way.

His clothes looked crinkled, spots of dirt speckled across the wrinkles.

He looked rough. Like he had been living the life of a homeless person. The wind carrying the smell to me.

It was so bad I almost retched. The smell of a mix of dirty human body, urine, and booze.

It was enough to make my stomach roll. I had to suppress a few gags.

Clearly it didn't work though, as his facial expression morphed, the sneer of a smile suddenly dropped into the deepest frown. His eyes showing anger and complete hatred.

Great, so now he's a crazed lunatic who's mad...

"You're going to help me get my wolf back. Then the two of us are going to have some 'quality' time. Just the two of us."

The tone of his words made me recoil. The hair on the back of my neck raised, and the way he spoke those words just made me feel icky all over. I needed to get myself out of here. But the only way I could think to do so was to use my strength as a wolf. Though Aaron had told me to avoid that.

I had to try though, it was my only option. I couldn't go on expecting Aaron to save me every time I got in trouble.

Letting my wolf out was easy, and the gasp I heard from Ein as he saw my ears and tail right as I busted out of the chains made me smile with glee.

Any victory I had though became short lived as the next thing I know I couldn't move, looking down at myself I saw some sort of magic barrier around myself. Looking around I had enough time to see three middle aged people, a woman, and two men walk in my direction. The one man reminded me of Terry and Travis, the woman looked strikingly similar to Katelyn. And the last man? I don't have a recollection of ever seeing him, but he looked very familiar.

His eyes, a brown colour, remained on me as blackness pulled me under to unconsciousness.

The last thought I had before I passed out was of my innocent little baby.
