Day at the Beach!

Aaron POV

I'm now beginning to become re-accustomed to waking up to Aphmau in my arms again. I'm also finding her presence is helping me to keep the night terrors at bay. They haven't been happening as often as they use to. And when they do, all I have to do is hold her. She usually wakes up when it happens to me, and she holds me till the pain caused by them subsides. She is so understanding of my needs. Likely due to the fact that she was plagued by nightmares in the months that followed the incident at the Lodge. She is an incredible woman. To go through what she did, and be okay after only a years time. Not only that! But to help me on my road to recovery as well. I am truly lucky to have this woman in my life. And to know that this woman loves only me. I looked down at her as she slept next to me. Her raven hair messy from sleep. Her eyelashes leaving crescent shaped shadows on her cheeks. Her lips were pulled in a slight smile. At least I knew she was dreaming happy things. I looked on my end table, grabbing for my phone. I pressed the button on the side to turn the screen on. A picture of Aph and I kissing had been set as my background, I looked at the time, it read 4:08 am. Still too early to get up. But I felt well rested. I would have just sat and looked at Aphmau, but I didn't want to seem like a creep. So I settled on just cuddling her as she slept. Listening to the slow, steady rhythm of her heartbeat. Soon, I'll ask her to marry me. I can't wait to marry her. She is my one and only, and I want to spend all my time with her. I never want to be apart from her ever again. Who knows, maybe Sylvanna will have her request for grandchildren sooner rather then later. I know I'd love to start a family with Aphmau.

My thoughts continued in this happy pattern. The last thing I thought of before I fell back to sleep was what our children might look like. And my hoping that any children we have get their looks from their mother.

Apmau POV

I woke up at the best part of the dream I was having!!!! I grumbled internally as I wish that I had slept through the entirety of the dream. Why is it that our bodies choose to awaken right at the BEST part of the dreams we have? Ugh!!! I finally opened my eyes to see Aaron leaning over me and smiling a devious smile.
"Are you the reason I'm awake right now? If you are I want you to know you interrupted a fabulous dream I was having."

I did my best to show how unhappy I was by pouting. He began to chuckle. "But Aph! You don't need to dream about anything! The person who you would be dreaming about is right here!" He'd gesture down at himself before erupting into laughter after I had rolled my eyes at him. I was happy to see him laugh. To see laughter in his dark eyes, where lately I had only seen pain.

He quickly planted a kiss on my forehead before standing up and pulling me out of the comfort of our bed with him. I must have really been frowning because he started bursting out in laughter again. I shook my head at him, my messy bed head coming into view of my eyes. I sighed and shuffled over to the door. Pulling the hood of Aaron's sweater I had been wearing to bed over my messy hair. Last thing I wanted was someone to make fun of me for my bed head. I quickly and quietly crept into the bathroom. While in there I yanked a brush through my messy mane of hair, and brushed my teeth. Once done I went back to our room and dressed for the day. Aaron must have already gone downstairs.

Once I hit the stairs I smelled the familiar scent of pancakes cooking. I also heard conversation floating up to me from the area below. My stomach began to rumble due to the delicious smells coming from the kitchen. Letting my stomach do all the thinking I quickly descended the stairs. Once I came into view of the kitchen I saw Garroth and Zane sitting at the island table talking with Aaron as he cooked.

Garroth and Zane both saw me coming towards the room. They both also nodded their good mornings to me as I took the empty seat next to Zane. I stifled a yawn and heard Zane snicker. "Still half asleep eh, Aph?" "So what I'm not a morning person! This is vacation after all. I enjoy my sleep!" Zane chuckled again, and Aaron brought me a plate with a stack of 3 pancakes and some bacon! He handed plates to Garroth and Zane as well, and finally grabbed one for himself. Returning to the table and handing a bottle of maple syrup to me after he had put some on his food first.

Breakfast was fun. The four of us talked, and laughed. I was still so happy to know that even though these two knew what Aaron was, it didn't change how they behaved with him. Once the food was gone and the dishes washed, the four of us went our separate ways. Garroth and Zane went to their room. (And they seemed to be in a rush as well... huh...odd...) Me and Aaron went off to our room to grab beach essentials. Once we had all we needed we headed off to the nearby beach. When we got there we noticed Blaze, Dottie, Daniel, Rylan, and Maria there. They all waved to Aaron, not really paying much mind to me. I was happy that Dottie, Rylan, and Daniel had Aaron as an alpha. They were good people who needed someone strong like he is.

As the pack descended upon Aaron, I moved closer to the edge of the water. Laying my towel out on the sand, and quickly going about taking my skirt off. I'd attempt to fold it up neatly and leave it on my towel. I'd walk to the waters edge, and dip my toe in to get a idea on the temperature of the water. It felt warm to my toes, likely due to the fact that this was a tropical vacation spot. I had only been here for a short while, and already my skin was a deeper bronze colour. My skin was already tan naturally, but it was becoming darker with each day as the sun kissed my skin.

Aaron POV

The wolves were talking to me, but I was focused on Aphmau. I watched her take off her skirt and got a devious idea! I held my index finger to my lips which signalled the wolves to be quiet. And I quietly walked towards Aph, quietly putting my stuff, including my shirt with her stuff. After a moment longer I'd pounce! Grabbing her and lifting her in the air as I ran into the water, making sure to only go to about waist depth. I'd be laughing as Aph squirmed, trying to get out of my arms. I'd let her down, still having her stand before me, and facing me.

The frown on her face would cause me to burst out laughing. Her frown deepened, and she splashed at me. "I figured we could work on your swimming some more today!" She'd cross her arms and turn her head away from me, making a show of the fact that she's 'mad' at me. I'd come up to her, pulling her into a hug, and turning her face back towards me. "You know I was playing with you babe."
Her only response would be a huff. Feeling I had no other choice I brought my lips down on hers in a tender kiss that had her melting in a matter of seconds. "Now, you can't stay mad at me when I kiss you like that, now can you?"

She made a show of continuing to frown for a few more minutes but I knew that the kiss had melted any anger she had felt towards me. Without warning she quickly splashed water at me. She had been trying to aim for my face, but due to our differences in height, she mostly hit my neck, though some water did reach my face. I rolled my eyes at her. "You're gonna get it now!" She shrieked and attempted to run away towards the shore, giggling as she did so. It didn't take me long to catch her, she hadn't gotten very far. I lifted her over my head, allowing for this show of my returning strength. I know she worried about my recovery, and I wanted to show her I was doing well. She giggled down at me, a smile tugging at her lips, and love for me filling her caramel eyes. It was a face only I could see, especially since her ravin coloured hair was cascading around her face, hiding her features from everyone but myself. "I think it's time we worked on your swimming. Don't you agree?" She groaned at me as I set her back down on her feet. "Do we have to, Aaron?" "Yes babe, we have to. There's places around here that I want to show you, but you need to be able to swim to get there, so come on." I held onto her hand and started to help her float. This is how we spent the morning and a portion of the afternoon. In the water, with her getting closer and closer to being able to swim.
