That's How It Happened .

CHAPTER FOUR.

"So what were you guys doing?"
Alexa asked Steve as she fell on the couch.

So now we were inside and it was surely awkward as hell.
They sat on the couch. And we sat on the chair.

"Nothing much...just watching star wars!"

"Oh cool!" Sarah said for the first time.

To be honest, I didn't take your mom to be much of a star wars fan so her sudden excitement on star wars intrigued me.

The other 2 girls weren't that much interested. Though they took the popcorn bowl on their lap and dug through it.Girls love junk food.

I remember Sam whisper in my ears "I wish I was that bowl of popcorn...".

" so which one were you watching?" she said as she looked at the paused screen.

"Revenge of the sith," I said.

Her face turned towards me. A bolt of current ran through my body as I saw her face.

Well, I had seen her face before too but never so close.

"Wow! Can you play it?" she smiled. And it was sure as hell - beautiful!

I got up and played the movie.
Her eyes were now fixed on the screen as the music started and mine were fixed on her.

Sam was still not ready to engage in any conversation. Sohe too got consumed by the movie.

But, on the other hand, Steve was doing pretty well. He was next to Alexa. And Alexa was not interested in the movie.
So Steve tried to strike up a conversation with her.

You might be thinking how? Wasn't he a nerd?

Well, yeah, he was a nerd but his specialty was in the field of electronics. And coincidentally, Alexa's phone had broken down so, he offered to fix it.

And they went to his room.

He never really told me what exactly happened in the room.
But a lipstick mark was on his cheeks when he came out.

Now as far as I can guess, that's probably because Alexa gave him a little kiss as a thank you for fixing her phone. But of course, he pretended otherwise...

Time flew by really fast because their friends started honking their horn in front of the house after about half an hour.

Sarah wasn't now totally drowned in the movie. She didn't wanna go. But she had to.
And through all that 30 minutes which felt like the best 30 minutes of my life, I kept staring at her face.

They walked out of the room and we followed them to the front yard.

Steve was still out of his senses due to that kiss. And it seemed like he was drunk.

By 'friends' they actually meant the boys. Jason Stanton, Will Strokes, and a few others.

They were the ace players on our football team. hence were the popular kids with the chicks raining on them.

Jessica was in a hurry so she paced right in front of Alexa who followed her. And Sarah followed them in slow steps.

The guys had tied Jessica's car to their's to tow it.

We stood near the door.

As Sarah crossed halfway through the yard, she stopped and looked back.

She ran back and stopped in front of me.

"Actually...can I have the movie? I will return it tomorrow !" she said so fast that I almost couldn't understand it.

"Uhh...of course" I rushed back into the house, popped out the cd, put it in the case, and ran back outside.

"Here" I handed over the cd to her.

"Thank you so much " she flashed that mesmerizing smile of hers.

I smiled back.

She ran back to them as my eyes followed her.as she reached the car and opened the door, I noticed Jason looking at me. And the look on his face, seemed like he knew something about me. He was smirking and I was confused.

The 3 of us watched as their cars disappeared on the turn of the intersection ahead.

"That was something else huh?" Steve said.

"Yeah". We turned back to go inside.

We sat on the couch.

"well, she took the cd... So that means we only have the popc... "
He noticed the empty bowl.

I didn't care about the movie or the popcorn anymore. There was now only one thing on my mind...Sarah Owens

"Dude, are u gonna wipe that mark off of your cheek already" Sam pointed to the lipstick on Steve's cheek.

'No way man!" he covered his cheek with his hand.

Sam rolled his eyes. I guess he was jealous.

"Well, I think we should go then" I got up as I heard the sound of a car stopping in front of the garage. I knew it was his parents.

As we reached the corridor. Steve remembered the broken mailbox.

"Oh shit! What am I gonna do!" Steve was no longer in the trance.

"Yeah, have a good time explaining that lipstick mark too! " Sam smirked at him and started laughing.

"I guess you will have to say the truth"

"No way in hell I'm saying that I invited girls in our house!" the door opened. And as it turned out, steves door was not that soundproof.

"What happened then? What did they do?" Aaron asked.

"Well, I can tell you what did not happen next. They didn't get angry. And they calmly interrogated us. And of course, they did not ground Steve. "I raised my brow.

So the next day was an important day. Not only because the school was starting but, because there was a chance I would see Sarah.probably.
