"Hey look! It's raining!" I said as I noticed it outside the window. A slight drizzle.
"Yeah!"Amy said turning her head towards the window." but what happened then? Did you enter the party?" She asked.
"Umm, well I had to. Because it started to rain then" I said," A drizzle just like this. I have accepted it as a higher calling. Like the forces of the universe wanted me to go in there and..."
"... and?" she poped her eyes at me.
"Come on, have some patience," I said,"we will get there,"I smirked,"eventually".
"Ugh.." she was always a curious one. Ever since she was a child she had the urge to discover things and to know what was not known to her. When she was a little girl, about 7 years old. She would ask her mom," where do babies come from?" And she was never satisfied with that " A crane came flying and left you on our doorstep, honey". I am pretty sure she went to the bottom of this and found out the 'real' answer.
"Well, let's continue, shall we?"
"Yes, please!"
Aaron laughed.
I quickly went under the canopy of the tree. The one that shaded Jason's car from the rain. Though it was just a drizzle I tried not to get drenched. Or maybe it was just my innate longing to get closer to the house. Probably.
The sound of the music was still piercing through my ears. I took a look and for a moment it didn't seem like a bad idea. The idea to take a look inside and save myself from the rain. The odds of not getting pneumonia and seeing her didn't seem like a bad idea.
I got off my cycle. And locked it next to the tree. And rushed off to the front porch. Covering my head with my hands.
The guys were outside with red plastic cups in their hands and I could make out what it was that they were drinking from their actions. It couldn't be a soft drink of course. Not in a million years.
"Heyy, Adam! Mah man !" Derek lifts his hands up and he was unmistakenly drunk to his wits. 'Yep! That's one drunk homo-sapien' I thought at the back of my head.
"Hey" I replied running my fingers through my hair to shake off the rain water.
"I have never seen you in a party man!" He took a sip. His head was bobbling with the beats. "Ever!".
"Yeah, I just came here to save myself from the rain. I thought maybe I could wait here a little while?" I tried to sound genuine but that didn't really matter because if I had told Derek that 2+2 is 5, he would have agreed to it and called everyone else who said otherwise, a bit*h. He was about to say something (which I guessed would be something that incorporated over exaggerated English and unprecedented+dangerous hand movements ) when someone called from inside.
"Hey!" I turned around. It was Will.
"Adam! What are you doing here?" He had a smirk on his face. He wore a white slim fit shirt that only ecentuated his muscles as if they needed more accentuations anyway and blue denims.
"Actually I just came here because of the rain. I hope you don't mind?"
"Oh no! Absolutely not. Come on in. It's party time!" He said handing me a drink.
I looked at Derek. He said," bottoms up, Stowell!" And drank all there was in his cup at once. And I was shocked to see that. Honestly. Not from the fact that he drank it all at once, because Will had just given me a cup of 'alcohol' to 'drink'. If I refused , I would be a wimp for eternity.
