"Can you eat like a normal person and not bombard us with it ?" Steve said to Sam who was trying to stuff his mouth with an entire burger. One of his underrated talents.
"Dudejccals...", Sam said some gibberish with his mouth full.charming...
"Which planet are your from, Sam ?" Steve narrowed his eyes on him holding the frame of his specs. Much like trying to examine a new found species.
Sam rolled his eyes.
"So Adam, do you have any plans on Saturday?" Skye said to me. I could notice her fingers fidgeting with the straw of her juice.
"Nothing much, maybe read a book or something..." I said. Pitying myself for the life I was living. Its soo happening...
"Oh, actually", she said after a pause rolling a strand of her mid-lenght hair on her index finger," I was thinking maybe we could go out for a movie?" She added," my dad brought 2 tickets and now he can't go because something came up so I thought maybe you would be interested? I guess..." She looked cute.
"Oh what movie?" I took a sip of the apple juice.
"Its a marvel movie... I forgot the name" she said.
'Well played ,Skye' I thought to myself. She said it was a marvel movie but kept me itching to know the name of the movie and well, since its marvel, I can't really say no ...and the 'dad-excuse', Mmm...well played!
"Thats interesting !" I said," yeah I can come"
"Actually, I would love to come" that came out unprecedented.Maybe she only focussed on the word 'love' because, she started blushing right after that. I didn't know about the complexities of the ways in which a girl's mind works then, so i didn't bother it.
My eyes went to the right, at a distance i could see her. Sarah was sitting with Jason and his friends. They were all laughing and flirting but Sarah seemed a little off.
"Have you heard about string theory?" Steve said to spark up a discussion among us, nerds. We just live for these kind of stuff!
"Oh yeah! It's so weird right!" Skye said," it just goes so much against of what we had learned before"
"Absolutely!" Sam said but his mind was still on food. The world might be ending but he would be eating like its just a fluke.
"But the concept is crazy ! Like how can the fundamental forces have string nature..." And so went the discussion.
"Guys I will be right back" I said," need to go to the washroom"
"Okay..so i was saying..." They were soaked in their talk. Why did i even bother, I thought.
I got up and started walking down the row .
The washroom was right at the corner of the room , just next to the entrance. Sarah was sitting and at the edge and I crossed her. I noticed she was doodling something in her note book. She looked up and gave me a smile. And goddamn she looked beautiful!
I smiled back trying not to look like a freak but maybe I did because, she stopped smiling after a while. I thought maybe i was smiling the wrong way. Good job you freak i looked straight. I loathe myself.
But after I crossed her I wanted to see what she was doodling in her notebook.
It is said that you can tell exactly what a person is thinking by seeing just their handwriting and a doodle is like a treasure house to make an entire file about that particular person. And it is also said that curiosity kills the cat. The latter is rather true...With that intention I tried to steal just a glance at the page. But I was completely unaware that my legs were still moving forward.
And then my super unlucky luck played it's part of utmost importance in my life... again.
