Chapter: 9 Where's Sebastian

"What is it?" I asked, yawned
"Um Sebastian," he said in a really low voice.
"Yeah, what about him?" I asked, adjusting to the light which was coming from the giant wooden window on my right.
"He's gone."

Chapter: 9 ↓

"What do you mean he's gone?" I said, bewildered by his sudden words.
"He's gone...poof. I've looked everywhere but there's no sign of him." Jake said.
"Um, should we tell the king?" I asked as his face filtered with fear.
"No, we can't do that! What if he blame's us for his disappearance." He warned.
"Then what do you suggest we should do?" I said.
"Well, I say we wait, he probably went to a restroom, we don't know of, so he'll probably just ... come back." He said in a really weird tone which clearly expressed that he was trying to stay halcyon.
"I think you're forgetting that the king asked us to come to the throne room," I said.

After fifteen minutes of dispute and arguing, we finally decided to come clean and tell the king everything, so the two of us went to the throne room to expose the truth.

"Your Majesty, can I have a word with you? If you're busy then I completely understand." I said, waiting for him to say he's busy but he didn't.
"Actually, I have nothing urgent right now, so go on." The king told me.
"He just had to be free today." Jake murmured.
"Is everything alright Ella?" The concerned king asked, after a long silence.
"Um your majesty, I don't know how to break it to you but.."
"But what?" The king said calmly.
"Sebastian's gone!" I blurted out.

The entire room got so quiet, I could hear whispers of the maids, who were moping the floor.

"You're joking" the king finally said.
"Trust me your majesty, when I say he's gone, HE'S GONE!" I said.
"What do you mean he's gone?" The king said, savagely and indignantly as his hands formed into fists who were ready to pound someone.

Part of me wanted to scream "OK, that's one way to talk to a lady, no wonder you and Queen Sarahina don't have a special connection... I mean you don't even pay attention to the poor queen, like aren't you two married, maybe when she'll run away with somebody then you'll be like, what just happened!"

But I shut my big mouth and said: "Jake has looked everywhere, My Lord, but there is just no sign of him."
"You two." He said and two guards came sprinting towards him "Go to Sebastian's house and check if he's there, and the rest of you" his voice got sonorous as he spoke "search the entire palace and summon more guards, and finally you two" he told Me and Jake "stay in your room until I inform you to come out, Guards! Escort them back to their room."

As much as I hate command's, we followed four guards to our room "where do you think Sebastian is?" I asked Jake.
"I have no idea."
"Well, I hope he's ok," I said, sadly.

After six hours, at 8 o'clock, two guards came into our room to tell us that the king wants to speak to us.

When we got to the throne room, my face filtered with contentment, as I saw Sebastian. I ran up to him and gave him a really tight hug.
"Where were you?" I asked Sebastian but he kept quiet.
"I'll tell you where this bastard was." The King said, "He was found in The Cave Of Sorcery."
"Why did you go there?" I asked Sebastian but the king replied.
"because he was afraid that he had Caliginous in him and got lost while escaping. Like who'd be afraid of that?"

OK... I wasn't expecting this, I thought he got kidnapped or something.

"You three are excused for now because my private consultant and I can't really figure out who holds Caliginous in them. So I'll call you three when we'll find out. Good day."

The way to our room was silent, no one uttered a single word. I guess everyone might be thinking about the postpone, I was so excited that I would finally get to see my brother but...sad life.
When we got to our room, I murmured one word to Sebastian
"Why?"

I knew he was not going to reply, but I was shocked when he finally opened his mouth.
"I'm really sorry guys, I was just so petrified, I mean our life depends on detuxfrim, and I guess by now we all know that one of us is going to die and... I don't want to be that one."
"Don't say things like that doofus." Jake scolded.
"I've decided something. I'm totally up for it, but the better question is.. are you up for it?" He said as an automatic grin appeared on his face.

Jake was definitely up to something, no wonder he was so quiet when we were being escorted to our room.

"Yeah, go on," I said.
"Sebastian's running away gave me an idea. Well, Detuxfrim isn't an affectionate thing we all can look forward to, so I was thinking...." he hesitated.
"Thinking what?" I asked.
"That we all run away together!" He blurted out.
