Today was the seventh day, the final day of the week. Thank god, Maraline (Ella's maid) wasn't staring when I woke up. I waited for her to come and dress me up and when she arrived, we went to the room which had the big assemblage of dresses. We were almost there when I caught a glimpse of the Queen, who was walking past us with a smile on her face. I wonder why she was so euphoric. Did she talk to that woman from my dreams or something? Because the last time I checked that woman was dead, so I wonder what made her so happy.
Today I wore a red dress and tied my hair into a high ponytail.I am so anxious because today the King is going to pick the one who he thinks has Caliginous in him. I'm so nervous, what If he picks me then I would have to go inside detuxfrim and what if it fails to pull Caliginous out of me. Will that be the end of me?
"it's time to go to the throne room, King Aldrum might be waiting, and we don't want that to happen," Maraline said in a weak and infirm manner.
"Yeah, and remember one thing, if something happens to me just keep in mind that you were something way bigger than a maid." My voice cracked with sadness as I finished the sentence and then hugged her.
"Don't worry Ella, nothing's gonna happen to you. I won't lose another loved one." She said in hope.
Jake and Sebastian were still sleeping, I was about to wake them up but then suddenly a guard came.
"What is it jerry?" Maraline said.
"Oh nothing, King Aldrum told me to deliver a message to Lady Ella, Jake and Sebastian."
"And that message is?" I said, interrupting their conversation.
"King Aldrum had delayed the meeting because he can't really figure out who has Caliginous in them, so he needs some time to discuss it with his private consultant. Therefore, you three are requested to come to the throne room tomorrow."
"God that was close," Sebastian said, I didn't realise He and Jake had woken up since my back was facing them. Jerry (guard) was about to go when he suddenly Said: "Oh, almost forgot.. the Queen wants to talk to you." So I went to the throne room to talk to her.
"How are you feeling your highness?" I asked but she ignored my concern and said: "Have you told anyone about the vision you saw?"
"No, your highness," I replied.
"Not even Jake and Sebastian?"
"No, your highness, only you."
"Well, I just wanted to ask you that, and yes! I'm fine. Now, you can go and join your friends." The Queen commanded.
"Alright, your majesty," I said, and practically ran away. Seriously, she called me all the way here to ask me whether I told anyone about my vision!
At night, I was the only one awake, I just couldn't sleep because of Sebastian's snoring and because of all the pressure. What if I have Caliginous in me!!!
In the morning I heard a familiar voice "Ella, wake up!"
I opened my eyes and saw Jake.
"What is it?" I asked, yawned
"Um Sebastian," he said in a really low voice.
"Yeah, what about him?" I asked, adjusting to the light which was coming from the giant wooden window on my right.
"He's gone."
