Dawn's POV

We're throwing the party today. I'm really hoping this plan words. The party starts in about 8 hours. It's 8 o'clock now. We all woke up early to get it ready because everyone at school will be there. Well, Nicky isn't awake. Dicky said we should let him sleep in so he has more energy when Ella comes. And he also wanted to tell us something and didn't want Nicky to hear it.

"What is it?" I ask once we're in the kitchen. Nicky baked a cake yesterday for the party and Ricky is making sure it's not ruined. Dad likes to have a midnight snack.

"Well...I accidentally told Ella about our plan and how we didn't believe Nicky when he told us they kissed so we're throwing her the party so we can see it ourselves."

He takes a deep breath and smiles. "That was easier than I thought."

"WHAT THE BUTT?!" I yell. "Why did you tell her?!"

"It just came out!"

I sigh. "I have to call her now so I can apologize."

"Is the party off?" Ricky asks.

"No. We're not letting Nicky off that easily."

I take out my phone and dial Ella's number. She answers on the first ring.

"Hello? Dawn?" she says.

"Uh...hey Ella. How's it going?"

"How's it going?!"

"Yeah. Shouldn't you be asleep or something?" I ask.

"Asleep?! How can I be asleep?! Dicky told me that you guys are throwing the party just to get me and Nicky to kiss in front of everyone for you guys."

"Whaaaat?" I say. "Dicky was totally lying. We would never do that to you."

"Well, he was trying to get me to date him to make Mae jealous. So maybe he was just pulling my leg."

"Totally," I say. "So you in?"

"Yeah. I'll see you guys at the party."

She hangs up and I give Dicky a death stare. "I told her what you said was a lie."

"But it's not a lie," he replies. I take a few steps towards him until I can feel his breathing.

"I know that! But Ella wasn't supposed to know!" I say. "We can't let Nicky find out."

"Find out what?" I turn around to see Nicky standing behind me.

"That Ella called and said-"

I cut Dicky off before he says too much. "And said she couldn't wait for the party."

He gives me an unconvinced look, so I add, "And she wanted to talk to you about something really really serious."

His eyes go wide. "Oh no! What if she wants to talk about about us?"

I put a hand on his shoulder. "It's okay dear Nicky. Ella seems like a very nice girl and-"

"We have to cancel the party. I totally agree," he says.

"No...I was going to say I'm sure she likes you a lot. We are not canceling this party. What about that cake you baked yesterday that Ricky is struggling to take out of the fridge?"

"I'm okay!" Ricky calls out with his head still in the fridge.

I roll my eyes and turn back to Nicky. "You're gonna be fine. Just make sure she kisses you in front of everyone."

"We're still doing that?!" Ricky says. "What about-"

"YES, we are," I cut him off. "Now everyone let's get this party ready."
