"Nicky?" I say. "It's not true, right?"

"Um..." he stutters. "Yes. It is not true."

I smile at him and wrap my arms around him in a hug. "That's a relief. I thought you were just using me to prove you could have a girlfriend or something."

I pull out of the hug and laugh a little, but he doesn't laugh with me.

"I have to um...get some punch. I'll be right back."

Nicky's POV

I can't believe Dicky told Ella about the plan, and they didn't tell me that she knew. Now she thinks he was lying, which he wasn't and that I'm always honest with her.

After I make up an excuse to get away, I so find my siblings. I spot Dawn talking to Mack and walk up to them.

"Hey man," Mack says. I completely ignore him.

"Dawn, how could you?" I say.

"What are you talking about?" She chuckles.

"Don't play dumb with me. Why didn't you tell me Ella knew about the deal?"

She smiles at Mack. "Excuse me." Then she grabs my arm and drags me to the kitchen where Ricky and Dicky are.

"He knows," Dawn says. "How do you know?"

"She told me. She wanted to know if it was true or not because she didn't trust you but trusted me. Now I feel awful," I rant.

"Does she know the truth now?" Ricky asks.

"If she did, she wouldn't still be here. It really hurts to lie to her. I can't kiss her now."

"You have to," Dawn says.

I get all up in her face. "No I don't. And you can't make me."

She folds her arms. "You're right. I can't make you do something you don't want to do. But think about all the people you're letting down."

"What are you talking about?" I ask.

"Yeah," Ricky says. Dicky just sits there stuffing his face with my cake.

"I told everyone that something really memorable was gonna happen at the party. Snapchat and Instagram worthy. So...if you don't kiss the girl, I guess your friend status is gonna go down the drain."

I can't believe my own sister would do that. I take a deep breath. "Fine. I'll do it. But stay out of my business Dawn. Not everything evolves around you."

She looks hurt when I say that, but I don't care. When Ella finds out I've been lying to her, it's really going to hurt her feelings.

I go back to the crowd and find Ella talking to Mack. She starts laughing at something he says and I walk faster towards them.

"I'm back," I say. They both turn to me.

"Oh hey Nicky. Mack and I were just-"

"Yeah I saw," I snap. She gives me a startled look. "What were you guys talking about?"

"That's what Ella was gonna tell you if you hadn't snapped at her like that."

I glare at him and he glares back.

"Uh...I'll see you later Mack." She hugs him and grabs my arm pulling me away to the dance floor.

"What do you see in him?" I ask.

"What are you talking about?" Ella says.

"You guys were obviously flirting. Like get a room."

"Are you...jealous?" she asks.

Oh my GOD!!! I am jealous. Do I really like Ella that much?

"Uh..." I say.

She smiles a little. "Nicky. It's okay to be jealous. It shows that you really care about me, but don't take it out on Mack. He and I are just friends."

I let out a sigh without even thinking about it. Ella laughs and wraps her arms around my shoulders and I wrap mine around her waist.

"Nicky..." she says.

"Yeah?"

"I'm having a really great time with you. Even if we've only spend like 20 minutes together on the dance floor."

I smile. "Me too."

She grins at me and we both stop dancing and stare deep into each other's eyes. Before I know it, our noses are touching and I can feel Ella's breathing against my neck. Then it happens. Our lips collide and my insides feel like their about to burst. At first it feels like we're the only two people on Earth. No noises. Quiet.

Then I hear some gasps, then mumbling, then cheering. I open my eyes but keep kissing her. Dawn is standing right behind Ella with her phone out and she gives me a thumbs up. I notice the people around her are all doing the same thing, except Mack. He has this look on his face. Like surprised and confused.

That makes me break out of the kiss and Ella opens her eyes and stares at me.

"What's wrong?" Her eyes go wide when she sees them and they go back to me. "Dicky was right?"

She takes a few steps away from me and bumps into one of the people crowded around us. Mack.

"You told me he was lying," she cries. Literally. Her eyes are watery.

"I..." I say. "I'm sorry."

She shakes her head and tries to leave, but the other kids are blocking her path.

Ella's POV

I try to leave the quads' house, but the other kids won't let me.

"Ella," I turn around to see Mack. "Let me help."

He's able to clear path for me to leave. At least I think I'm the only one leaving.

"You don't have to leave because of me," I say once we're outside the house.

He shrugs. "This isn't really my scene. Let me walk you home."

"I can't. Mae's mom is having a ladies night with the quads' mom at some hotel. Mae and I were supposed to sleep over."

"Oh. Maybe you can crash at my house. I don't think my mom would mind. And my sister is at some party with her friends."

"Older?" I ask.

He nods. "So what do you say? You can have my sister's room and my mom can drop you off at your house tomorrow."

"Yeah. Thanks Mack. I really appreciate it."

"It's the least I could do after what just happened. We should probably get out of here so they don't try to find you."

I laugh. "Yeah.
