Song: I Like Me Better by Lauv
DELILAH
The next morning though exhausted, I woke up early, took a long shower and ordered room service to surprise Liam. If there was going to be changes, I wanted them to begin as soon as possible.
When the food arrived, I set it all on a small table near a window so that we could look outdoors while we ate. I climbed on the bed, giving Liam a hug and then a soft peck on his cheek. The small smile on his lips told me he was awake so I straddled him, waiting for him to open his eyes.
"Ugh, come on, Liam," I groaned, kissing him once again.
"I'm only waking up because I smell bacon," Liam mumbled slowly opening his eyes. "And because I like that dress your wearing too," he added when he saw the white spring dress I wore. "Though I think I like it better off."
"Later," I smiled. "Let's go, or the food will get cold."
Once again, he groaned but this time he sat up, hugging me tight against his chest. "Good morning, my love," he murmured.
"Morning," I replied, placing my hands on his chest, over his steadily beating heart. Mine told me it wouldn't care if we didn't eat as long as he held me like that, but my stomach disagreed, threatening with a growl. Liam chuckled, the sound filling up the room. His eyes twinkled with happiness when he turned to look at me, pressing a kiss on my cheek.
"You're happy," I whispered, realizing that though we'd been happy moments before, this spark in his eyes hadn't been there; not since we were teenagers.
"I am," he replied, not losing his smile. "I have a son, the woman I love and bacon. What else can I ask for? Now, stop holding me up and let me go brush my teeth so we can eat."
He stood up without caring that he was naked and walked towards the restroom. I rolled my eyes when he caught me staring. He was so happy, truly happy for the first time since I came back. I was too.
I waited for him in front of the window, my stomach already aching from hunger.
"You should start eating," Liam said while he put on his jeans.
"I'm waiting for you," I said with a frown.
"Oh, I know. And as much as I appreciate, baby, I know you get quite frustrated without eating. We barely got on good terms, I don't want hunger to be the next reason why we argue."
I glared at him but couldn't argue with what he said. So, with a smile and without breaking eye contact, I grabbed a piece of his bacon. His mouth fell open, gaze fixed on me as I took a bite.
"So good," I teased.
"Evil," he mumbled, throwing on his white t-shirt. He walked up to me, tilted my chin up and said between kisses, "So... damn... evil."
