The night before the dance arrives, and everyone is getting ready. Yuri is busy reading manga, Natsuki is baking cupcakes for the after party, Monika is setting up our after party, and Sayori and I are just chilling. The beds gave out a couple days ago, so we all sleep on the very large couch, Sayori on my left, Nats on my right, Yuri laying across from me and Monika next to her. We had gotten everything fixed for the dance tomorrow so we decided to hit the hay. We got on our pj's, brushed our teeth, I got my glass of water and we all settled into our spots. Sayori looked at me.
"Tomorrow is going to be great. I just know it." Sayori said, sounding extremely tired. I petted her head while squeezing her hand.
"I know it will honey, because I'll be with you. I love you." I told the pink haired beauty lying next to me. She kissed my cheek.
"If you have any nightmares, I'll be there with you." She reassured me, squeezing my hand tighter. I felt happy, knowing my Sayori was here for me. She was the last thing I saw for the day as I drifted off to sleep.
I woke up near Sayori's house from the game, the door wide open. I knocked on the door: no response. I entered, the house being deathly quiet. Making my way upstairs, I pressed my ear against Sayori's door. I heard a vacuum and other cleaning supplies. I opened the door to see a cut rope hanging from the ceiling and Sayori pushing a vacuum along the floor, a severed noose around her neck. I spotted the object that cut the rope in her pocket: one of Yuri's knives. She looked at me and smiled.
"Hey Taro! How's it hanging?" She asked. Terrible and depressing pun aside, I rushed to her, removing the noose and hugging her tight.
"Sayori... Thank God, I made it in time." I said, happy that Sayori was alive, even though this was a dream and I knew real life Sayori was alive and well right next to me on the couch. Suddenly, the walls fell away to reveal a black and grey sky with the others far in the distance.
"Hey guys! What's goin' on?" I yelled, Sayori and I running towards them, but we slowed to a stop before we reached them. Something was off about them. Natsuki looked demented, with a giant smile across her face. Yuri had her sleeves rolled up, revealing the cuts from before, but they looked fresh. Monika had her "Just Monika" face on. This is not good. I repeat: THIS IS NOT GOOD!
"I'm a brave boy... I'm a brave boy... I'M A BRAVE BOY!" I yelled, trying to keep my composure. Natsuki stepped forward as the land behind me and Sayori collapsed.
"Come play with me. Play with me. PLAY WITH ME!" She shouted, her neck snapping, bending 90 degrees to the right as she charged at us. I grabbed Sayori.
"BAD TOUCH! BAD TOUCH! STRANGER DANGER!" I yelled, Sayori and I falling backwards off the cliff. We landed at the bottom as Nats looked at us, her neck flopping everywhere.
"I'm a brave boy... I'm a brave boy... I'm a brave boy!" I shouted again, starting to panic. Then Yuri appeared out of nowhere.
"Oh, hi senpai. How are you?" She asked, a knife in her pocket. Yuri is in full Yandere mode. She saw Sayori and started twitching.
"Is... Is she dating you, Senpai? I can't have this... YOU MUST BE MINE!" She screamed, rushing at Sayori with the knife aimed for her heart. I had to stop this, but I didn't want to hurt Yuri. Wait, this is a dream. None of this matters. I slapped Dream Yuri in the face. She looked hurt. She started laughing maniacally, aiming the knife at her belly.
"FINE! IF YOU DON'T WANT ME, NO ONE WILL HAVE ME!" She screamed, plunging the knife into her stomach twice before stabbing her heart once. Her eyes rolled in the back of her head as she collapsed in front of me and Sayori. We stared at Yuri's corpse. She still had that laughing face on.
"NOT A BRAVE ENOUGH BOY FOR THIS!" I yelled, grabbing Sayori and running away as fast as my legs would go. It was about five minutes before Monika appeared in front of us.
"Hey. You know, you don't need those other girls. They can't please you the way I can. Come on Jack. You just need me. Just Monika. Just Monika." She kept saying 'Just Monika' over and over before I pulled up the files and deleted her. Just like that, boom. She was gone. Worst. Monika. Ever. I turned to hug Sayori.
"Well honey, we did it. Now we're... no. No! NOOOOOOOOO!" I turned to see Sayori hanging by her neck from the noose. She was dead. Her fingers were raw and bloody, just like they would've been. I screamed at the top of my lungs.
"NOO! NOOO! SAYORI NO!" I screamed for what felt like an eternity before I awoke. I sat up, covered in sweat. Sayori sat up next to me.
"It's okay. It's okay. I'm here. No need to worry." She said calmly. I turned to her and kissed her before lying back down, this time, staying up with Sayori until morning time came.
