MAY
As the year drew closer to the end, everyone was excited. Excited that they were either going to another grade, another level or completing highschool. For those completing, they had to have a graduation ceremony as that was the tradition that ran for years and years.
The graduation gowns and caps had to be laundries in readiness for hiring or purchase. The surroundings had to be perfectly landscaped in readiness gradyand's parents' visit. The graduation Hall had to be properly cleaned and decorated in readiness for the actual day. Tgw students or graduates had to practise everyday to perfect their dance routines for the graduation ceremony. Everything and everyone was busy during this period except for me. All I was waiting for were the weekends.
One evening, my mum came early from work and found me watching my favourite TV show. She approached me with a big smile on her face and I knew at once that ahe had good news. I waited for her to give me the good news but all she did was smile more. I could not help it anymore so I asked her what made her very happy that day. She then told me that she had gotten a promotion to Chief adviser of the legal authorities and her first privilege was to be the guest of honour at my school's upcoming graduation ceremony.
I fwlt so happy for her that I gave her a huge, warm hug because I was so happy that she had gotten a promotion and would work less more than her 'privilege' to be guest of honour at my school's graduation ceremony.
That evening, we had dinner together for the first time in a long time. I really missed such meals that I ate more than usual. Dinner comprised of roasted lamb, stored fried vegetables, fries rice, grilled potatoes, ribs in sweet sauce, some amazing part of the meal with a French name thr I did not know and grilled chicken especially for me. The desert was quite, simple as it was chocolate mousse with a vanilla topping, by it's side was a plain vanilla cake. That meal was so delicious because our cordon bleu chef put in more effort as this was a celebration dinner.
Later that evening, my mum and I watched my favourite TV show together and shared my bed that night. I slept in her arms and I felt her love for the first time in my entire life. The next morning however, as I woke up to prepare myself for school, she was not there in my bed. She had already left for work.
