Day Two: Why do I dream ?

I got done eating dinner and walked around the woods. I walked down the trail and looked at the trees , they looked spooky like those trees you see in horror movies . That's my aesthetic , though. I shoved my hands in my pocket and walked back to the cabin area , I saw two people yelling at each other. " Well maybe I don't want to do this anymore . You hurt her , you know that right ? When will you learn that other people have feelings too ? You know , you go around here saying that she hurt you and broke your heart , but the fact of the matter is , you broke hers first ."

It sounded like a boy , the figure started to walk my way and I didn't want to make it look like I was eavesdropping so I hid in a bush . I watched them go and I tried to get a better look , but I couldn't make out their facial features , I then heard, " Um , Bella ?"

I fell forward and then automatically stood up and turned around and it was Maya. She laughed, "What are you doing out here , huh ?"

I shrugged , while messing with a little bit of the bushes, " Just making sure the bushes are trimmed, that's all, bye ."

And I started to walk away and she said, " Ahh , and I'm gonna guess you didn't hear any of that conversation , am I right ?"

I shrugged, " Bits and pieces. Most of the end part ."

She nodded and looked down, " Goodnight , Bella.", she smiled then said, "Don't stay out to late checking to see if those bushes are trimmed ."

I laughed and nodded, I watched as she walked away and started walking to my cabin. I remember when I first met Maya she was not at all like she is now .

      12 years ago:

"I'm going to assign seats now when you hear your name please go to the seat you're assigned." , Mrs. Willams said .

She began to read off names ," Blake Williams , Ryan Scott , Maya Johnson , Isabella Ramirez, Tony Wilson..."

I got up and went to the table she assigned me to and began to put my stuff down. Next to me was a girl with blonde hair and pigtails in her hair , she was wearing a yellow shirt and overalls with flowers on it. She looked up at me and give me a big smile and I looked away quickly . She giggled and said, " You're shy. And really pretty , you look like my mommy , but younger ! My names Maya ."

I smiled sheepishly and said, " I'm Isabella ."

She smiled and said, "Let's be best friends ! I can show you my room and we can have sleepovers and play with my dolls !"

I smiled brightly and said, "Okay !"

I opened the door to the cabin and walked in , Paige was sitting down drumming her hands on the chest at the end of her bed , Maddie was reading a Covergirl magazine, Sophie was reading a book called Never Let You Go, and Alex was laying down and throwing a soccer ball in the air and catching it . I looked in the hall and saw the bathroom light on , Vanessa must be in the bathroom. Maddie looked up from her magazine and looked back down at it , turning the page. Vanessa came out of the bathroom and sat on her bed and looked at me and smiled , I looked at her and smiled back and then went and sat on my bed . I leaned back and looked up at the ceiling and took out a piece of gum and put it in my mouth then I heard Paige say, " I heard it's supposed to rain sometime next week . Like really bad."

Sophie nodded, " Yeah , I heard that too."

Maddie laughed and sneered , " Oh yeah ? From who ? You don't have any friends ."

Vanessa shook her head and grabbed a pillow and threw it at Maddie , " Not cool , Maddie."

Maddie leaned up and shrugged , " Yeah , because I really want to be friends with any of you ."

Alex shook her head, " Wow, you're such a bitch ."

Maddie smiled, " Beats bein-,"

Maddie paused and then looked at me and pursed her lips together and looked at her magazine again. Vanessa slowly looked at me and then back at Maddie and then said, " Am I missing something here ?"

And Alex said, " Yeah , what was that all about ?"

Maddie turned a page, " What was what about ?"

Vanessa laughed and sarcastically said, "Oh I don't know , you looking at Isabella and then going back and reading your magazines . Makes me suspicion."

Maddie looked up, " You mean , suspicious ?"

Vanessa looked at Maddie and replied, " I meant what I meant. Stop trying to change the subject."

Maddie smiled and shrugged, "I don't have to explain anything.", then she looked at me, " And I meant nothing by it ."

Vanessa laughed, "Right."

The door opened and Lauren came in and looked around then said, " Lights out at 8.", then her eyes locked on me and she was looking at my necklace, " Gum. And why is it that you are always late coming into the cabin ?"

I got up and spit my gum out the window and shrugged, " I like to go on walks ."

Lauren squinted at me then turned around and went out the door. Maddie was shaking her head and said, " I call bathroom first ."

I got ready for bed and then fell asleep. My eyes opened and I looked around , it was snowing hard like a blizzard and I could barely see. I saw a deer glowing and running towards me , I stared at it and then I shivered . The deer started to run away , then I followed it. It looked like it was heading for a road , it was , I paused and thought it was going to get hit , it got to the road and then it disappeared. I walked to the road and looked at the spot where it disappeared , I heard a loud car horn and then I looked up and saw a car coming , the car was a old white beat up Volkswagen.
