Chapter 8:Day Five: Date Night

I walk down the shore of the beach and look out at the water. I stop and sit down in the sand and start to pick up rocks and toss the into the water. The sun setting looks so beautiful with the water, I hear walking and talking as I toss the rocks. " Is this seat taken," I hear Maddie's voice say.

I look up at her then look back at the water, " Yeah, just make sure no one sees us right ?"

" Salty because I told you to go play basketball with Tony," she says as she sits down next to me.

" Not at all," I toss another rock in.

She starts to toss rocks in the water too, " You know it's against the rules. We could get in a lot of trouble for even kissing."

" Then why'd you do it," I ask as I stop throwing the rocks.

"Because I like you," she replies.

"Not a good enough response," I respond.

She looked at me and grabbed my head turning it to her, " Because you make me happy, and I wanted to know what your lips tasted like."

She smiled, looking at my lips then my eyes, I smiled and shook my head " Better response."

" Gonna make out," I heard Tony's voice say.

"You wish," I say looking at him then laughing I playfully push Maddie's arm away from me .

He laughed and sat on the other side of me, " Maya told me she saw the whole show. Boob sucking and everything."

" Biting, and she walked in without knocking, what were we suppose to do," I reply tossing rocks into the water again.

Tony smiled, " Same thing, and you could've played it off like you were doing cpr."

Maddie made a confused face, " Definitely not the the same thing."

Tony laughed and shrugged, " If you don't have teeth it's the same thing."

Maddie smiled, " I think that's gumming. Plus, Bella's not an old lady and it definitely didn't feel like gumming."

I got up and dusted myself off, " Okay, you guys are being weird that's my cue to go."

I began to walk to the cabin and Maddie followed me. She got in front of me and stopped me, " Go on a date with me."

" Yeah lets just bust out the picnic basket and go watch the stars," I say as I try and go around her, but she holds her arm up so I can't go around her.

She glares at me, " Haha, I'm serious, Bella. The watch the stars part doesn't sound bad though."

I smile and grab her hands, " Fine, I will if you let me go get the sand out my shoes."

" Deal," she says with a smile and she grabs my pinky with hers, " Pinky promise."

We shake pinkies and we both walk into the cabin, Vanessa and Paige are in the cabin. Vanessa is throwing a soccer ball in the air and catching it and Paige is playing with a rubik's cube. I walk over to the window and open it and dump the sand out of my shoes. " You couldn't do that outside," Maddie says watching me dump the sand out my shoes.

" Hey, you're the one who followed me in here, and I wanted to change my socks," I say walking over to my chest, I took off my hoodie, then searched for another pair of socks.

She rolls her eyes and sits on her bed, Vanessa looks at Maddie suspiciously, " You two have been pretty friendly lately."

" Camp just brought us together, soon we are going to make friendship bracelets and make macaroni art," I reply finding a pair of black socks putting them on.

She smiled, " Oh I just find it suspicious you two are getting close. Real close."

Maddie shook her head, " No, you're just acting weird. Real weird."

Vanessa laughed and shrugged, " Maybe, but I feel like somethings up."

Paige nodded in agreement, " I thought you two hated each other."

Maddie got up and walked next to me and tugged on my arm in a signal to get the hell out of there. I looked at her and grabbed my shoes then I put them on, Maddie shrugged, " I don't know what you guys are talking about."

Vanessa smirked, " Sure, Maddie."

Maddie lead me out of the cabin and we started walking down the beach. Maddie shook her head, while she was still dragging me out by my arm, " I swear she's so nosey, we'll never be able to be alone."

I pulled my arm away from her, " We'll find a way. We just need to be less subtle about it."

She stopped and made a puppy dog face, " Can we go on our date now ?"

I smiled, how can I resist that cute puppy dog face. I nodded and grabbed her hand leading her to the woods, " We shall, ma'am."

We walked in the woods and we stopped by some rocks and sat down by them. The sun has gone down and the stars and moon are out glowing down like a candlelight on a cold dark night. I looked at Maddie and smiled, " You look beautiful in the moonlight."

She put her hand on my waist and leaned closer, " Not as beautiful as you."

I laughed and looked at her lips then her eyes. Her eyes were pretty in the moonlight, they are like diamonds glowing back at me. I lean in closer to her and kiss her, her lips are soft and taste like blueberries and strawberries. I put one hand on her waist and I pulled her closer to me, she moved her hand down lower and rested it on my butt. She pulled back and looked into my eyes, " I really like you, but I don't want to do it on some rocks."

I laughed, " Understandable."

She leaned her head on my shoulder and cuddled into me, " Do you think I'm pretty ?"

" Yeah I think you're pretty," I replied.

We sat in silence for a minute and I felt a little weird. Like something was missing, I reached up and felt for my necklace and it wasn't there. I sat up and I looked at Maddie, " Oh no, my necklace !"
