Chapter 5 : Day Four: Flashbacks and Detention

I was walking down the shore, looking at the sun reflecting off the water. I looked away and stared at the forest, I saw some girls running out of the forest and laughing . Then I looked at the cabins and saw Maya sitting on the steps of her cabin, she was talking to Blake and Tony. I walked over to them and Maya looked up at me, she smiled, " Hi, stranger."

Blake looked at me, " Hey, Bella."

Tony looked at me and smiled, " Hey, why are you over here ?"

I grabbed Maya's hand and dragged her by the lake away from Blake and Tony. I looked at her, " That kiss, it didn't mean anything. I was upset and it was in the moment."

She frowned, " It meant something to me."

I shook my head, " No. No it didn't, I don't want to hear your lies, you're with Blake and not me , so please don't lie to me and say it meant anything, because I know it didn't."

She stared at me , " I'm sorry. You know that right ? Like I told you he means nothing to me, I get it if you won't forgive me, but I'm sorry."

I looked at the ground, " Sorry doesn't erase what you did, and it means nothing to you then why did you kiss him ? I'm sorry too, though."

She bit her lip, " It was a mistake and for what ?"

I shook my head, " For trusting you."

I looked at Blake, " For loving you."

Maya laughed and shook her head and then walked back to her cabin. She looked at Blake and got up and kissed him, I stared at them.

1 year ago:
I was walking to see Maya at our special place, it was our anniversary and we had been together for two years . I looked at the flowers I had in my hand, these were her favorite, daisies. I was about to get there when I heard two people talking, I walked up to a tree and hid behind it . It was Blake and Maya, I watched as Blake was smiling and laughing with her. Maya smiled , " You have really big muscles , Blake."

He smiled, " Oh yeah ? Do you want to feel them?"

She laughed , " Flex for me ."

He grinned and then flexed for her, she gripped his muscles in her hands and she looked up and their faces were close. She leaned in and kissed him, on the lip. I stared at the scene, I dropped the flowers and looked down and stomped on them. I turned away and Maya ran after me, " Bella, it meant nothing to me, I swear you're the only person I love."

I faced her and screamed, " We loved each other! How could you , Maya? The person who was supposed to love me more than anything in the world, you used me. Just, leave me alone. Forever."

She stared at me and shook her head, " I love you."

I cried, "Don't ."

She walked over to me and tried to touch me, I pushed her away from me and cried, " Don't think you can kiss me and touch me and think everything's going to be okay. It won't be."

I ran away from her and went by the road and sat down and brought my knees up. I crossed my arms over them and laid my head down and started crying.

I curled my hands into fist, I started walking over to Maya. Maya , Blake, and Tony watched as I swung at Maya and hit Maya in the jaw. Maya grabbed her jaw and looked at me, she tackled me and tried to punch me, but I pushed her off of me. I rolled over and saw Lauren running over here, and I closed my eyes and reopened them then looked at the sky . Lauren grabbed my hand and led my to the school building. She took me to Miss Edwards room and I saw Vanessa and Maddie sitting there staring at the ground. Lauren yelled, " Sit down , right now."

I sat down and crossed my arms, Lauren was staring at me, " I am leaving, when I come back you better be in that seat."

I mumbled and she walked out the room. Maddie looked at me, " What'd you do ?"

I mumbled, " Punched Maya in the face."

Vanessa laughed, " Good, she definitely, probably deserved it."

I did a shy smile, " I just don't get it."

Vanessa looked at me, " Get what ?"

I looked at her, " I could be having the greatest day of my life, and there's just this cloud of dark that surrounds that happiness. And it won't go away, no matter how hard I try."

Maddie and Vanessa both stared at me, Maddie cleared her throat, " I understand that. Everything is just unreal , sometimes, and it is crazy to think about."

Vanessa played with her fingers, " It's not your fault that she is like that, Bella. You, no matter how hard you try, can't change the way someone acts. Even if you don't like it, even if you want to, they make their own decisions and you make your own decisions."

I stared at the floor, " How do I know if I'm making the right ones ?"

Maddie smiled, " When you're happy, in the end everything is okay, if everything isn't okay it isn't the end yet."

I shrugged, Maddie got up and walked over to me and put her hand on my shoulder, " I'll beat her up for you."

I smiled, " No. I already did, thanks, though."

Vanessa smiled, " Should have gotten it on video."

I looked at her, " Do you two still hate each other ?"

They looked at each other and Vanessa looked at me, " I guess, she's alright."

Maddie smiled, " Gee, thanks."

I looked at one of the windows and it was half open and I smiled, " You guys wanna get out of here."

Maddie laughed, " And get in more trouble ? No thanks."

Vanessa smiled, " For once I agree with her."

I shrugged, " Suit yourselves."

I walked towards the window and tried opening it more , but it wouldn't budge. I huffed and pushed harder and the window creaked and opened a little bit more. I heard the door open, and turned around and saw Lauren walking in.
