Chapter 17: About Time

Bella's Pov:

" What do you mean you're leaving ? Why are you leaving ? We just got here last week," I say following Maddie up the shore.

She handed me a letter, " I have to leave Bella. My parents know I like girls and they are forcing me to leave."

" Fuck your parents, please just stay. What about when you said you didn't care what they thought ?"

She shook her head, " You don't understand, they won't stop trying to come get me until they take me. I have to leave."

I grabbed her hand and looked into her eyes, " What about us ? Are we still going to be able to talk ?"

Maddie just shook her head and she kissed me on the cheek, " I don't know."

I stared down, " But," I paused and tried to hold back my tears, " I don't want you to go."

She stared off into the distance, " Maybe I have to, it's a sign. You did kiss Maya,and you thought about being with her. Face it Bella, you want her not me."

I bit my lip, she's right. No matter how much Maya annoys me she's always there. No matter how much I say I don't want her and don't want to be with her, I still end up wanting her more. I whispered, " You're right. I don't want you to be right, but you are."

She gave me a sad little nod, " It's fine, we can be friends. But go tell her."

I hugged her and kissed her on her cheek, then I walked to Maya's cabin and knocked and waited for her to answer. One of the other girls answered, Brooke, " Maya's not here, she went into the woods somewhere."

I sighed and went into the woods looking for her, I felt it start to rain. "Great," I muttered to myself.

I saw the rocks where Maddie and I had our first date and I saw Maya sitting there with Blake. I hid behind a tree and watched as they talked, Blake started laughing, " Yeah, I miss when we were kids."

" I miss it too, I loved it when I would go to Bella's house and her mom made us pancakes every time I came over," she paused and looked down, "But what I miss most, is Bella."

Blake sat there looking like he didn't know what to say. Blake whispered, " I know you do."

She shook her head no and started crying, " I want Bella, not you. How could I even of cheated on her with you ? You are nothing compared to her," she looked away from him, " You should just leave."

Blake nodded and softly replied, " I'll go get Bella."

Then he got up and I watched as he began to leave, he turned back, " Do you love her ?"

She stood up and stared into his eyes, " Yes, she's my everything. When I saw her eyes that day, it just broke my heart," she paused and looked down, " but I guess if she wants to move on, I have to let her."

I smiled, she does love me, all this time she has love me. I bit my lip and ran up to her and started to hug her. She looked surprised, but hugged me back and I pulled away looking into her eyes. I smiled and tucked my hair behind my ear, " I love you."

She smirked, " About time you admitted it," then she paused, " I love you too."

I wrapped my arms around her neck and kissed her while she put her arms around my waist. She felt so warm in my arms and I felt like I never wanted to let her go. She pulled me closer and then broke off the kiss holding me in a hug. " Will you please be my girlfriend again ?"

I nodded, " Yes, yes I will be."

She grinned and then I noticed Blake awkwardly standing there. I opened my mouth to say something, but he beat me to it, " I'm sorry."

I just shrugged, " Just don't steal her again."

" That will never happen again, I promise," Maya replies for him.

He awkwardly walked away not saying anything, Maya looked at me then reached up to my neck, " The necklace I gave you, where is it ?"

I sighed, " I don't need it, I loved that necklace, but every night I wore that necklace I had nightmares. Maybe it's a sign I should just keep them in my heart and not a necklace."

She nodded and took my hand, " Shall we go to dinner my lady ?"

" We shall my good ma'am ," I respond taking her hand and letting her led me out of the woods.

We walked to the cafeteria and Tony walked up to us with his arms crossed, " I never thought I'd see this in a million years."

Maya rolled her eyes and smiled, " She finally made up her mind."

" See I told you she'd come around," Tony replies.

Then I realized something, or more like someone. Maddie.

Maddie's Pov:

I started pacing around the room, I don't want to leave I never told Vanessa how I felt. I gritted my teeth then I started packing my stuff trying not to cry. Then I heard someone enter the cabin, " Why are you packing," I heard Vanessa's voice say.

" My parents found out I like girls and they want me to come back home and they are sending me to a Church Camp."

She walked over to me and grabbed my hands, " How'd they find out ?"

I shrugged, " Why does it matter how they found out, the issue is that they know now. I knew this would happen, I told you this would happen."

" It doesn't have to happen Maddie, just let me talk to them."

" That won't help ! Nothing will help they are going to take me away. You think I want to go ? I like you. And, and I want to kiss you and ever since-," she grabbed my face and cut me off by kissing me.

It felt like she just shocked me with her lips and a whole bunch of lightening bolts went through my body. I felt like I was out of breath and I feel my cheeks heat up and I put my arms around her waist and kissed back. She smelled so nice and I didn't think I'd ever be kissing a girl I shamed for being gay. She pulled back and stared in my eyes smiling, " That's a good way of telling me to shut up," I say out of breath.

She laughed and rolled her eyes, " It's about fucking time you said you liked me I got tired of waiting."

I closed my eyes, " But what does it matter if I'm being taken away from you."

Vanessa shook her head, " You aren't. I have an idea."

" In the closet, really ?! That's your big idea," I muttered as I walked in the closet.

" Look at it as a metaphor too. Get it, because you're a lesbian. Do you have a better idea," Vanessa replies.

" Yeah, I got it. I don't have a better idea, but this isn't going to work."

" Yes it will, trust me."

I heard the door open and Vanessa shoved me in the closet and closed it. I covered my mouth so I wouldn't cough, because it was dusty. I heard talking and I realized it was Bella. I came out the closet, " It's just Bella ! You pushed me in a dusty closet for nothing !"

Bella looked at me with a confused face, " You told me she left," then she looked at me, " Why were you in the closet ?"

Vanessa rolled her eyes, " Why do you think ? She's hiding from her homophobic parents."

Bella chuckled, " Oh I get it, because she's a lesbian."

Vanessa laughed, " Nothing gets pass you huh, Bella ?"

I walked over to Vanessa's bed and sat down, I noticed Maya standing behind her, " I see everything went well with Mia."

"Maya," Maya replies glaring at me.

Bella sat on her bed and stared at me, " So, are you two a thing now."

Vanessa was about to answer, but I saw Lauren walking to the cabin. I got up and ran into the closet and I heard the door open.
