~ A Year Later ~

Rebekah's POV

It's been hard for Nik and I to get over Elena's death. Especially him, she was the first person he actually started loving again since we've been vampires, and the first person he loved wasn't the same as Elena. I could tell he really cared about her.

I felt bad for leaving him in the house alone but I think it's good for him to have some time by himself. So, I just stayed at Matt's place.

Besides he has Caroline now. I don't like her as much as Elena but at least Nik is happier now. He met her a month ago and they started dating and stuff.

Klaus's POV

I've been having dreams about Elena these past few days. I didn't like it. Not because they reminded me of her and the pain but because when I wake up, she's gone.

Every time I woke up I was just reminded that she's gone, forever.

I missed seeing her laugh, smile, and I miss holding her.

I walked into my paint studio and stared at the painting we finished together.

It hurt to see it but it was something I always looked at, but that was before. I've met someone new and slowly she's been helping me get over it.

I heard the the bell ring so I walked downstairs. Maybe it was Caroline, she wanted to see a movie with me today.

I've slowly moved on after Elena's death. I met a kind person named Caroline and we've sort of been dating since a month ago.

When I opened the door the person jumped and hugged me.

When she pulled away I gasped.

"Elena?" I ask.

She nodded as tears started streaming down her face.

"How are you alive?" I ask.

"I'm not exactly sure. I remember the ritual and everything but then after I died I met some witches, I guess they bought me back."

"When'd you come back?" I ask.

"I woke up in the forest last night. At first I was confused then I remembered what happened. I'm back, the witches helped me." She replied.

She hugged me again.

"I forgive you. You tried to save me that night." She whispered.

Elena's POV

I was glad I'm back. I've missed everyone.

I wiped away my tears after I pulled back from Klaus when the door opened. There was a blonde girl with blue eyes who smiled at Klaus.

"Hey!" She says.

She kissed Klaus and wrapped her arm around his waist.

"Hi. I'm Caroline, Klaus's girlfriend. You are?" She said to me while extending her hand.

I shook it and said, "Oh I'm Elena. Nice to meet you but uh sorry I can't stay long. I-I should go." I say with a fake smile as I left their house.

Just in time a taxi who dropped our neighbor off was there.

I signaled the driver and got in.

When I entered he taxi I thought about Klaus and Caroline. I couldn't believe Klaus was with someone else.

"Wait Elena!" I heard Klaus say.

I pretended I didn't hear him and just slammed the taxi door.

Maybe Rebekah's at Matt's house. I can probably stay there.

I found my car parked near Matt's house. It looks like it hasn't been used in a while but there was gas in it.

It felt weird to come back all of a sudden but I was thankful. Until I saw Klaus with Caroline.

I understood that it's been a year and that he had to move on but I can't help but feel sad that he's not in love with me anymore.

It's FINALLY the weekend. I only have 2 weeks left before summer!

Anyway since it's the weekend I'll be updating again soon!
