Chapter 18

"Grace, your turn." Mr. Devon said. I looked up at him. Last night I picked out my poem. I was searching through ones when I found a real beautiful one. Its called Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night by Dylan Tomas.

Jax squeezed my hand and smiled at me as I walked up to the front of the class. I've always had stage fright. I swallowed my fear down as I looked at all the bored faces of the class. Some of them looked rather angry but I tried my best to ignore them.

"My poem is called Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night by Dyland Tomas." I explained a little bit more about it and hwne it was made. Stuff like that.

"Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light." I started. A minute and a half later, I was done the poem. They clapped as I went and sat down.

"You did really good, Grace." Jax said as I went and sat down next to him.

"Thanks." I said to him and he took my hand.

More and more of the boys went up and said their poems. Some of them had really nice ones.

"Jax your turn." Jax looked over to me and smikred. I looked at him confused. He walked up, and dug hus hands in his pockets. He didn't even explain where his poem was from, he just said it.

"I was rasied in the vally. There was shadow and death. I got out alive but with scars I can't forget." He said. But it wasn't actually a poem, it was a song. The song was Don't Go by Bring Me The Horizon. He said the whole song. I was lost in it. Because this song related to him so well. All the class heard was scary lyrics but what I hera dwas the deeper meaning of it.

When Jax was done, Mr. Devon looked at him weirdly.

"Jax, was that even a poem?" Mr. Devon asked.

"Nah, I was more passionate about this song than those shitty poems that I couldn't even understand." Jax said with a shrug. Mr. Devon ignored his swearing.

"Well, I guess that will have to do then." He said as Jax walked back to his desk.

"That was amazing, Jax." I said to him and took his hand as he sat down.

"Well, what can I say?" He asked smirking. I laughed.

"When did you become cocky?" I asked smiling.

"When I had something to be cocky about." He said his smirk turning into a smile.

"And that is?" I pushed.

"You." He said. I really wanted to kiss him, but we were in class. It doesn't matter that my dad owns the place, I'd still get into trouble.

"I love you." I told him.

"I love you." He said back. Now I really wanted to kiss him. I love him so much. Honestly there are no words.

The bell rang, and Jax and I hurried out of the classroom. I hate school. The only thing I could handle was English or the music class we had once a week.

I frowned as Fred walked by me, talking to a guy named Kyle. I missed Fred most of all. I missed him making me watch his scary video games, or racing him at Mario Cart. Fred and Kyle met up with Alex, Zeke and Marcus.

"It's gonna fall back into place." Jax said to me and sqeeuzed my hand. I sent him a greatful smile but I still felt like crap.

We made it into the lobby, a group of boys walking in front of us. Suddenly the group of boys turned around and looked at Jax and I. I held my breath.
