Here I am again
Looking at the leaves falling
I try to catch even just one
Until one landed on my palm
Looking at it now on my hand
Dried and crooked but still a beauty
Once lush and perfectly proud
Yet time made it fragile and brown
I crushed it with my fingers
Rough and clingy were the pieces
Scattered everywhere as the breeze blew
Then I thought for a second, I was once that leaf before it took the free-fall
My heart is so much like that leaf
I was once vibrant and bold
Now every part of me is icy cold
But I'll be back when it's about time to grow again
