Walking into the restaurant was slightly awkward but I also oddly felt comfortable. Just my luck that we were going to the same restaurant. I told Beth to choose a different place to eat but of course she refused.

I was surprised when Zach gave me a quick hug before moving to the table where his sister was. There was a lot of people here for her birthday which was good. It meant that he would be too busy to talk to me.

Me and Beth sat on a little table on the other side of the room which was nice it had a candle in the centre of the table. I'm sure this is used for couples when they go on dates but unfortunately for Beth I don't rock that way.

Through the whole meal, my eyes kept drifting over to their table. I only did it when Beth was looking on her phone but at times she caught me.

I looked again and quickly turned my head because he was looking this way as well.

One of the girls who I guess is a friend of his sister moved next to him midway throughout the meal.

A surge of jealousy ran through me with the way she was now sitting all close to him. I was instantly annoyed and decided on ordering a dessert. If only that was gong to make the feeling disappear.

"you're slowly losing it gen" Beth states leaning back on her chair and crossing her arms. She was blankly staring at me but she also looked very amused.

I place the spoon back on the plate. No, I didn't share my dessert if she wanted some then she could get it herself. I'm like joey I just don't share my food.

I lean back as well "fine, I'll admit to you right now that I like him. But I don't know what's happening and now that blonde barbie wants to touch him like that"

"wow, it's that intense gen?" she leans forward now clearly, she can see I'm not in the mood for her stupid games. "if it makes you feel any better he shoved her hand off his chest" it took a lot of restraint for me to not turn around but I managed to keep my cool.

Beth only made it harder when she kept making weird faces as she watched them.

We wanted to leave now but I wasn't sure if they wanted a ride back or. They might leave with his sister but I wasn't sure.

"I'll get in the car you do what you need to do" Beth says giving me a slight push towards their table. Nervously I started my walk up to their table. Serena was the first one to notice me.

Surprisingly she smiled at me and stopped talking. I stood at the corner of the table next to Serena and Zach. Serena was at the head of the table and her brother next to her.

"hey, sorry to interrupt, I'm Imogen it's nice to finally meet you, Serena," I said looking at her. I guess it was finally time to introduce myself to her.

"girl are you kidding, you saved this idiots life I can never thank you enough times" she suddenly rose up and wrapped her arms around me. I laughed lightly into her shoulder.

I widened my eyes "oh, happy birthday by the way" I nearly forgot I would have been so embarrassed if I had left without saying that.

"thank you "she grins before sitting herself down. The air turned sour when I realised that they were probably waiting for me to leave now. Especially barbie who's staring daggers at me under those fake lashes of hers.

"sorry, look Zach me and Beth are going home, did you need a ride or are you okay" I angled my body towards him hoping he'd say something instead of making me look weird in front of his friends and sister.

I held my breath when I felt his hand slide around my waist. I tried not to make it obvious but boy was it hard.

Zach sure is touchy.
