「再來一次。」
_______
「do it again.」
_______"God..." Mingyu mumbles. "What is this guy doing to me?"
This is the first time in a while that he's felt so attached to someone...in a matter of weeks. He remembers the feeling when Wonwoo has stared at the waitress, completely blocking out what Mingyu had been saying to him at the moment, and how much it made his heart ache.
Wonwoo had turned around quickly, looking confused and painfully cute, and Mingyu could only feel himself smiling painfully, in a bittersweet way.
And then there was that moment, when Mingyu had lost it and straight up asked Wonwoo, "is that all?"
He wanted to know if Wonwoo even enjoyed spending time with him at the restaurant.
"Minghao," Mingyu calls the next morning. "Please help."
"Why, what's wrong?" Minghao asks, leaning against the door frame.
"I think I - I mean, I like Wonwoo," Mingyu mumbles quietly.
"I knew it." Minghao laughs.
"Was I obvious?"
"No, don't worry. Wonwoo hasn't noticed, that's for sure. I think Jun might suspect that you like Wonwoo. He's good at things like that, noticing things about people."
"Alright," Mingyu clicks his tongue. "What should I do-"
"What should you do? Confess your feelings, obviously."
"I can't do that!"
"Well, why not?" Minghao tilts his head. "You've got to do it someday, Mingyu."
"But not today," Mingyu shakes his head. "I feel like it's too soon."
"You can do it whenever you are ready," Minghao advises him. "Just not too late, obviously. Or you might lose him." His friend's words are direct and harsh, and they hit Mingyu directly in the face.
"Think about it, if you never confess, you never get a chance at having what you want. You want to be together with Wonwoo, no? If you don't confess - imagine seeing him hugging someone else. Kissing someone else. Buying someone else a rose on Valentine's Day. In love with someone-"
"Fucking shut the hell up, Minghao!" Mingyu exclaims, covering both of his ears. Just hearing about those things hurt Mingyu, his chest aching painfully.
"So, confess sometime in the near future." Minghao smiles.
"...Okay."
_______
"Mingyu," A soft voice murmurs, and it's that familiar voice that Mingyu's grown to enjoy listening to and brings a smile to his lips. He turns around and smiles when his eyes meet Wonwoo's.
"Hey," Mingyu smiles.
"Hey," Wonwoo echoes. "I, um, I was just wondering if I made you upset the other day. Valentine's Day."
Mingyu's palms sweat nervously. "No, no - I was, uh, distracted. I was a bit stressed, that's all."
"About what? You know you can tell me anything, if you feel like it..." Wonwoo's expression shifts into a sympathetic and concerned one, and Mingyu has to resist the urge to pull him into a soft hug.
"I know," Mingyu reassures him. "Thank you, cheeseburger boy."
"You're welcome, laptop charger boy," Wonwoo replies, looking much more relaxed now. "Actually, can I borrow your laptop charger?"
