The weeks pass by quickly as students are wrapped in schoolwork and studying before the long awaited spring break. When the day that they're free does come, Wonwoo feels like a thousand stones have been lifted off his shoulders as he practically runs through the door of his last classroom. He almost slams into the wall, but shifts his body just in time to avoid a painful crash, and breathes in relief.
"Wonwoo!" The familiar, cheerful voice that Wonwoo loves. An arm drapes around Wonwoo's shoulders, and Wonwoo looks up, his gaze met by an excited Mingyu.
"We're finally free." Mingyu sighs as they walk towards the exit. "We made it." He grins at Wonwoo, who nods and laughs.
"We survived." Wonwoo replies. "Just barely."
"I couldn't agree more." Mingyu muses, smiling. "Wow, last week was so busy. How was it for you, Wonwoo?"
"Really busy, as well." Wonwoo pushes the frame of his metal glasses further up on his nose, securing them from slipping down. "I'm so relieved it's over, god."
"Now we can relax after working hard." Mingyu says, smiling happily. "You packed your things, right?"
"Yeah, of course. You did too, did you?" Wonwoo replies, eyeing Mingyu warily. "Kim Mingyu, if you tell me you've haven't yet, I swear, I will-"
"I'm sorry, I haven't packed yet."
Wonwoo pulls away from Mingyu's arm and stares at him with a cold gaze, and Mingyu shudders dramatically.
"I was kidding! Of course I packed," Mingyu quickly confesses and reassures Wonwoo. "Don't worry." He laughs.
"We're leaving at midnight, Mingyu, so you better have packed already." Wonwoo sighs."Your joke wasn't funny."
"Says you."
"Shut up."
"Anyway, let's go." Mingyu suddenly pulls Wonwoo by the hand and starts to run. "I want to get out of school as fast as I can right now, let's go."
Wonwoo can barely feel his feet as he blindly runs and allows himself to get tugged away by an excited Mingyu, and he glances up to see Mingyu's content smile as the wind ruffles Mingyu's hair, messing it up, and Wonwoo feels like time has temporarily stopped. This is so unhealthy for my heart, but it's fine.
When they arrive at the dorm hallway, Wonwoo is completely out of breath and leans against the wall for support, and Mingyu laughs at him (like a supportive boyfriend should totally do), causing Wonwoo to shoot a tired glare at him.
Mingyu unlocks the door, Wonwoo following him inside, and Mingyu points at his suitcase. "It's all done! Be proud of me, Wonwoo."
Wonwoo snorts. "Of course I'm proud to see that you've packed your luggage by the day that we're supposed to leave, Mingyu."
"Ah, you're so mean." Mingyu whines, pushing the suitcase and keeping it by the wall. "Just be proud of your poor boyfriend already, he's trying his best."
Wonwoo can't keep the smile off his face, and he laughs, pushing Mingyu's shoulder lightly. "I am proud."
Mingyu cheekily smiles before lifting Wonwoo up in his arms and slightly swirling him around. Wonwoo looks down at him, starting to protest before Mingyu throws himself and Wonwoo onto his bed, rolling around like a child, tangling himself and Wonwoo in the blankets.
