Inspired by the Korean drama, The Moon Embracing the Sun! Honestly though, the drama's really good and you should check it out. (Psst... Kim Soo-hyun's the lead actor! wink wink)
A girl without a past, meets a boy without a future.
Meet Luna.
A girl who grew up as a temple priestess. A distinguished temple priestess who was famous for bringing luck to marriages and fortune into households who deserved it. A girl who knew nothing about the outside world. She grew up with her divine mother, Sori, a well-established head priestess who raised her into the elegant woman she was now. Sori had many titles – Head Temple Priestess, Royal Shaman, All-seeing Physic and so on. This made Luna earn similar titles as well – Temple Priestess, Divine Daughter of the Head Temple Priestess and Child of Moonlight for her pale skin and her obsession with the moon. However, Luna does not remember anything about her past and the things she knew about were all told by her divine mother. Sori claimed to have found her lying inside a wooden basket with a note attached to the front of her robes while her divine mother was busy sweeping the leaves off the front porch of the temple. Luna had always believed everything that her divine mother told her – after all, how was she to doubt Sori's words when she had no recollection of her past?
But when Luna started to have strange dreams about a girl who looked uncannily like her, doubt started to cloud her mind. Her dreams were nothing like the sort she usually had. They were vastly different from the visions she had. They were vicious and terrifying but at the same time, saddening. Luna would frequently wake up gasping, sweating and in tears. All of her dreams would show a girl interacting with a boy. Both of them were clothed in silk robes with embroidery sewn on the silk in gold thread. Garments only worn by royalty. The boy would hold the girl gently in his arms, his face expressing his deep love for her. Some of her dreams would portray the two characters holding hands, the boy observing the girl smile in awe at what he gave her, his eyes loving. Her dreams felt so familiar, as if it were memories. Memories belonging to her. Buried and forgotten but never gone.

Meet Dal.
A boy who grew up in luxury. He lived swathed in embroidered silk robes, used only the best fine china for meals and had servants attending to his every beck and call. His title as Crown Prince of the kingdom was something he both loved yet resented. He loved his title for it meant being accepted into his family, the royals. Yet, he resented being Crown Prince for it reminded him of her. Her. His wife. His beloved one. Or his ex-wife at least. Ex-wife not because they divorced or were separated forcefully by their families but because she was dead. She had died only a month after their wedding which was watched by the entire kingdom. Their wedding. The entire nation's dream wedding. He was actually glad that she had died for it meant that she was finally able to rest peacefully as compared to the past couple of weeks before her death where she would wake up, screaming in pain as cold sweat trickled down her temples. He would be woken up by her pained cries and would see their attendants kneeling on the floor watching her, their faces clouded with worry but could not do anything for her unless given an order. He would spend days distracted, his mind constantly thinking back to his beloved wife. His wife did not have any visible markings to show her illness. Her skin was still as soft and white as when he had first met her, her face was still beautiful and her body still shapely and perfect. The only indication of her illness was the dark bags under her eyes and her chapped lips. Her body had lost its warmth and her fingers were freezing whenever he held her hand. Then one day, when she was starting to show symptoms of recovery, her health took a sharp turn to the left, on the day of their coronation to become King and Queen. His wife, the nation's treasured Crown Princess, had died mysteriously. No one knew what kind of illness she had for none of the royal physicians and even international physicians could figure out her illness.
It had been suspected that black magic was used to curse her to die but no evidence on her body could be found. It was as though the Crown Princess decided to simply leave the world, forcing all written accounts of her to end abruptly.

The Crown Prince was just taking a walk and was on his way to his wife's tombstone when he saw Luna. Luna and Sori had been invited into the palace to officially become the Temple Priestesses for the newly built temple in the palace. Sori was to become the Royal Sorceress who will create talismans and perform rituals to protect the royal family while Luna was to become the Head Temple Priestess of the Royal Temple. Luna and Sori had been wearing their official temple priestess outfits and, were on their way to moving into the newly built home for them in the palace. Prince Dal could not take his eyes off of Luna then. He did not know her, yet something about Luna made his heart skip a beat. The same way his deceased wife once made his heart do. The fact that also Luna looked uncannily like his beloved wife started to make him question whether his dead wife was actually dead. After all, he had not seen his Crown Princess' burial for it was forbidden due to fear of receiving bad luck from the dead.
Luna could also not take her eyes off of Prince Dal, the dashing and charming Crown Prince of their kingdom who was famous for refusing to marry the countless eligible noblewomen presented to him due to his lingering feelings for the deceased Crown Princess. Something about Prince Dal made Luna's eyes water as feelings of sadness and love erupted in her. Something about Prince Dal made her heart ache terribly and she started to have migraines. She could not understand why he could make her feel like that but one thing she knew for sure was that Prince Dal was the trigger to making her have her strange dreams.
