BELOW AND WITHIN

----------------------------

To say that the underground base was overwhelming was a massive understatement.

"I know it doesn't seem like much," Liann folded her arms across her (almost nonexistent) chest.

"Doesn't seem like much? Doesn't seem like much!" I echoed her words.

"This way." The old man, who I still don't know the name of, led us over to an empty table.

We sat round it, I was still shocked to see so many people shooting lasers from their eyes behind

glass and producing fire from out of nowhere! There were also loads of people rushing round with

trays of unidentifiable substances, strange glutinous substances in jars and bottles.

"Samantha." The old guy called to one of the girls producing flames from midair.

She hurried over and sat down with us, "I had no idea you'd be back so fast!" She exclaimed.

"Now, I can explain," the old man started, I had a feeling that this could take sometime.

"Can you start with who you are?" I asked him, I just had to know.

"Okay, why don't we just start by introducing ourselves, I'm Samuel, you know Liann, and this is

Samantha,"

"Most people just call me Sam." Reached her hand across the table, I shook it and smiled

sheepishly back at her.

"Sandy." I said.

"Good. Now that we are all acquainted we can get to some proper business." Samuel seemed quite

chuffed and pleased with himself. "As we all know, or should know, Sandy's parents have been

taken hostage by some unknown or tiny organisation of evil doers." He paused for dramatic effect.

"So why am I still here? I can't do anything you all can do!" I gestured to everyone around us.

"You have a good point, but you have the phone, we need to use that to track the call and find

where your parents are being held captive." Sam clearly liked being clever.

"Oh..." I said.

Dan was already doing that back at my house. I wanted to say, but I didn't.

"So where is it?" Liann chimed.

"Still at my house..."

"So we've just got to go back there then!" Samantha was almost at the elevator.

"That might be tricky," She turned to look at me, her face said it all,

Hello! I have super powers whatever petty problems you have at home I can deal with.

"The problems aren't petty." I replied to the look on her face.

"So these mundo problemoes are, what exactly?" She asked.

"This creep knows who I am and have no doubt in my mind that he knows where I live."

"Sure I can take anything single handedly." She actually seemed worried.

"No you can't Samantha." Samuel said sternly.

"I was just trying to make a good impression!" She sulked.

"The main point is that we don't know what we are facing!" Liann butted in and stopped the on

coming storm of an argument. She was a totally different to normal, this was a side to Liann that I

have never seen before.

"Liann's right!" I joined her sudden peak of excellence. She grinned at me.

"You two are correct, Sammantha I think we should wait a while before we make our move."
