THE FIRST SIGNS APPEAR

----------------------------------

Okay, this might sound strange but I think my parents are super heroes! What evidence

do I have to back this up... Well, none but when I go to bed three floors above the living

room I can hear them shouting at each other as if they were in my ears, okay so maybe

they're just really loud... Yeah they're just really really loud they always fight, I think

they might get a divorce soon. Never mind...

A NORMAL DAY TURNS TO LONELY ONE

-----------------------------------------------------

"Mornin' kiddo!" My dad said cheerily as I entered the dining room with my bowl of

cornflakes, this is how every morning started for me. Normal to the finest detail.

I could hear my mum trudge down the stairs, and she soon joined my dad and me in the

dining room with her two pieces of, burnt to a crisp, toast.

"Good morning Sandy..." She was still dozy and almost fast asleep, as usual.

"Morning!" I replied, as I always do.

We ate our breakfast without making conversation, okay that's strange, but after my

parents fight I didn't expect much.

reporter started. The news continued for a while before the tele stopped working

properly. "Dad! The TV's on the blink again!" I shouted, it's been doing that a lot more

recently.

My dad wondered into the room with my mum "Go to your room for a bit honey," my

mum said to me sleepily. I did as she said.

I waited patiently in my room for a long while

"Hey kid!" My dad peeped his head round the door, "Your mother and I have to go out

for a bit, well, the rest of the day to be honest. We should be back tomorrow mornin'

see ya then kid." And with that last remark he left.

I heard the stairs creak under his weight and then the front door slamming, I was left

completely and utterly alone.

It was about an hour 'till lunch when I finally decided to go back down stairs and read

a book while lounging about on the sofa in the living room.

Once I finished the book I decided that it would be a good time for lunch. So I made myself a

sandwich I filled it with cheddar cheese and took it back into the living room to eat it. Neither of
