"So how long do you think it will take, roughly? To track the call?" I asked, there was no way I could cope if it was longer than a few days.

"About a week." Samuel answered.

"If you leave it all up to me I can promise a result in two days." Dan said grinning.

"Great!" Liann and I both jumped at the good news.

"But..." Sam sighed.

"But... What?" We all asked.

"There's always a 'but', especially if it's coming from a villain."

"We are talking about the same 'but' here right?" I asked, I was genuinely confused.

Helpfully everyone ignored my comment and continued the debate about who should hack the phone, I just stared at the floor and totally ignored every word. I let their chattering go on and on until I realised that they had reached a huge predicament and were asking for my opinion.

"Oh errrrrr....." I stammered.

"Look, I've hacked stuff like banks with codes that change every six seconds since I was twelve, I know how these things work." Dans argument was pretty convincing if you ask me...

"But my specialist team and my self invented those codes-"

"Doesn't mean that you can-"

"I don't CARE what you have-"

"Well I don't either!-"

"SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. A lot of passersby looked at me in terror and concern, I think everyone near me jumped in fright. "Dan!" I handed him the phone. "You're going to hack the phone and find out where my Mum and Dad are!" He reacted like a little overexcited kid. "As long as you all agree to this one thing! You work together! You learn from each other, share you knowledge and expertise! And..." I paused, not for dramatic effect, I needed to breath after shouting so much.

"And?" Liann dared to ask.

"And, just all get along and treat each other as equals, and stop arguing and shouting, it's giving me a head ache, big time."

"Sure." Liann agreed to my terms without a second thought.

"Hmm, fine." Dan went along with the terms too.

"Okay, I'll do it." Samuel hesitated a bit.

"I don't know..." Samantha tapped her foot punctuating her sentence. "Oh okay then..."

"Good! Let's get started then!" I said gleefully as we entered the secret base.

As we excited the elevator a few of the scientists turned and stared as we followed Samuel to a door on the other side of the elongated room.

"So this is where you guys work and come up with your lame stuff?" Dan said before he could even consider how they would react.

"LAME?" A young female scientist questioned him.

"Did I say that aloud?" Dan said with a bit of colour rushing to his cheeks.

"Yep!" I said as we all nodded.

"Oh..." He he scratched behind his right ear, I think I might have seen him do that before, must be a nervous habit.

When the lady realised that she wasn't getting an apology from him she turned with a flick of her hair and got back to coming up with 'lame stuff'.

Eventually we reach the door which seemed miles away (looking back it probably was) and went through it and finally escaped the feeling of a million pairs of eyes drilling into your head, it's not a pleasant feeling.

The room was only just big enough to fit us all in, I thought that if they had miles of one room they'd at least make the other(s) a decant size!

Dan pulled off the back of the phone and inspected the electronics Samuel peered over his shoulder...

I left them all to it. I didn't know anything useful. I probably dozed off because I don't remember anything that happen between then and Liann shaking me awake.

"They say the caller called from Pompeii!!" She was wide eyed and excited. "In Italy! Hear that! We're gonna go to Pompeii!"

"Brilliant! When're we setting off?" I asked sleepily.

"Tomorrow!" Samantha said as equally excited as Liann.
