forever to be mine

chapter 4

Katelyn knew it was complete madness to be going to a party with a guy she didn't even know and if anyone asked her she coudn't even tell them his last name, but that wont stop her. The hottest guy in town has asked her out on a date there is no way in hell she is going to turn him down he may never ask her again.  All the boxes and bags of clothes were still stuffed into the back of her car, she had no idea what the hell to wear to a party cos she had never been asked before, sure she had been out with Christian but it was never anything like this- the O' Connors were rich-filthy rich to be exact if all the fancy cars in there drive was anything to go by, Mrs. O' Connor drove a 2012 Mercedes C63 amd coupe in red, with black leather interior while Mr. O' Connor drove a 2012 Bentley continental in diamond black it was beyond extravagant but maybe that's what they like and if it is they won't want anything to do with Katelyn, she's not into the whole eccentric lifestyle she is a simple girl with simple needs.

After finally getting all the boxes and bags upstairs Katelyn searched through her belongings to find something appropriate  to wear, no doubt all the other guests will be wearing cocktail dresses and the like. Then from nowhere she suddenly remember that one dress what she put into special bag so it wouldn't get all creased in the drive was still sitting in the bag of the car she raced down the stairs to make sure - "got it" she cried now to get showered and ready for Joel.

The water wasn't exactly blistering but it was hot enough to wash out the cobwebs and dust out of my hair, working up a lather i couldn't help but think of Joel it would be the perfect time for a surprise visit i'm fairly positive we could both fit in here and still have room to maneuver. looking down at the state of my legs i'm surprised i fit inti the shower Jesus when was the last time i shaved them?? i guess seen as i didn't have a man to wrap them around i just lost all interest in looking after myself. All that is about to change not only cos now i have a man but he is the most attractive man i'v ever met. thinking of his naked body next to mine sent shivers down my spine, time to get out before i let things go too far.....

Stepping out of the shower i wrap myself in the dressing gown i tore out of one of the bags, brush and dry my hair and go over with the straighteners till its poker straight then head back to my room to get dressed. exposing my bare skin i gently slipped into the little red silk dress, the spaghetti string straps sat perfectly on my shoulders, looking in the mirror i fixed some makeup i hadn't this in a while either, it seems there's a lot of things i haven't done in a while, where Joel is concerned i hope i haven't forgotten how to do one of those things i remember a friend once telling me you don't have to know what your doing to have fun- but i'v a feeling it helps!

The clock in the hall began to chime Oh no! i cried he'l be here soon and on the eight chime the door bell rang " god dam it he's here, why couldn't he be late! where the hell are my shoes??" Hopping down the stairs with one shoe in my hand i fled to answer the door, opening it while attempting to attache the shoe to my foot "WOW you look .....sensational" Joel said with that charismatic smile of his. He wore a black button down shirt and dark jeans with black shoes i suddenly felt over dressed and out of place next to him. "Ready to go he said with his hand out ready for me to link arms with him, "More than ready i said as i pulled the door after me.

Those last few hours waiting till i get to see Katelyn again were without a doubt the longest two hours of my life. I laid out my best shirt and jeans before heading for the shower i felt the tension melt away as the piping hot water caressed each of my muscles i would be with her soon but soon wasn't coming fast enough. Jumping out of the shower so he wouldn't be late for Katelyn Joel grabbed a towel and roughly dried his taut body, then smothered himself in lynx before getting dressed.

There was silence as we walked to the party, with my hand securely locked in Joel's strong arm he gently led me to the back yard. The sound of people talking and children playing became clearer with every step. Children left to run amok while there parents enjoyed glass after glass of Chateau Petrus and Dom Perignon, i'm sure there is a butler lurking around here somewhere in a monkey suit just can't see him yet. At least 4 or 5 kids came rushing towards us "uncle Joel" they screamed- Wait a minute what??? he is there uncle?? Joel is Joel O' Connor????? No way, he's part of the bling clan?!

Joel always  loved the attention the kid's gave him, but now he loved something even more, Katelyn! and how she looked on at him, she was his Aphrodite, and he was her Adonis.

As the night drew on Katelyn start to feel a little more comfortable in her surroundings, she was almost beginning to like the classical music playing in the back ground. Looking around she noticed the crowd had turn to a small gathering all the kids had gone home to bed - all except one. She was the prettiest little thing Katelyn had ever seen with auburn red curly hair, a little button nose and her face was awash with delicate freckles and dimples she is Joel's God daughter her mother Joel's sister Emma died in childbirth although her father is actively involved in his daughters life it's Joel's parents who are her guardians. She was fast asleep on one of the many deck chairs that was laid out, Joel went over and lifted her up in his arms gently so as not to wake her from her slumber. Beckoning me on to follow we entered the main house. My high heels made a loud bang as i walked along the marble floors afraid i'd wake the little girl i slipped them off and tip toed up the stairs. following Joel we walked along til we came to a white door  with the name Gabriella printed in pink letters. her room is fit for a

princess, but its not lavish like the rest of the house its almost at though her grandparents didn't want her to grow up thinking that she can have everything she wants without earning it.  After tucking in Gabriella and giving her a kiss goodnight "A domani il mio angelo" he whispered Joel reached out and took my hand and led me back to the long hall, "would you like the grand tour he asked? pulling me on to the next door after Gabriella's - "this use to be my room" he said. I entered slowly after him the walls were adorned with photographs of him and a beautiful woman she had long black hair and piercing blue eyes Joel seemed to stare at one in particular with a deep sadness, "this is Emma" he said "Gabby's mum, i moved out after Emma died, it was like having a ghost walking around after me twins have a special bond even in death, tears started to fill his eyes,"it's Gabby's birthday on Sunday, Emma's 2nd anniversary, tonight was to celebrate her memory she was always the life and soul of the party" I sat on the bed next to him and took his hand in mine- i had't a clue how to make the hurt and the pain go away but i had to try.  We just sat there in silence holding each others hand.
